False Advertising - Dan's Fan City
 

My sister, who just bought a new home, went to Dan's Fan City in Leesburg upon my suggestion. She had received a post card from them stating" $25. off any ceiling fan $149. and up. Must present coupon. Not valid with any other offer" After deciding on two new fans, she presented this coupon. The salesperson said it was only good if she paid for installation. That was NOT stated on the ad and NO wording that indicated otherwise. He would not give her the $25. off the price of the two fans. He stated this was out of his hands, and that's BS! This is false advertising, and I told him I would not recommend his store any longer. I know this is a small amount to be complaining about, but false ads really tick my box.

Your right, but did you buy the fans anyway. I would not have.

P.S. I am on beer number one. Let me know if my attitude or typing suffers as the afternoon progresses!

Now that is a different story. Installation would be worth more than $25.00 to me. If the contract states WITH FREE INSTALLATION, then no discount was offered without install.

One of the fans had to cost over $149 to use the coupon. It does not say total purchase of $149. How much were the fans separately?
I guess these means you are not a Dan's fan.

In the fine print below, it says see manager for details. I know, but it is there.

Coupon offers can be confusing. I found Dan's Fans to be a quality merchants.

Yea, I have a hard time with needing to read fine print myself.

I just opened beer number 4.

When I had my fans done by them a year ago I paid no installation and am VERY happy with them.

How much were the fans???? How come they can do that in the state of Florida.?

If the fan costs $149.00 and up you are entitled to $25.00 off????? $249.00 and up free installation??????

The ad says, "$25 OFF ANY CEILING FAN $149.99 & UP OR FREE CEILING INSTALLATION". To me this means buy a fan at $149.00, get $25.00 off and take it with you OR,buy a fan at $149.00 and get free installation. As I said, that's my take on it unless I've had too much to drink and missing something !!!

I agree with you, that's how I interpret it.

I'm still trying to find a competent person to install our new ceiling fan where the old one was. Two year old home. Should be simple but not healthy enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
