"Another local favorite closed."

Are you sure about 110th Street Grill closing or is this just another rumor. Please substantiate your post and your source. Thx, Jimmie

Am I known for spreading rumors or do you ask that of everyone msfooter?

msfooter 05-06-2014 09:41 AM

TomOB, I don't know you, or even of you, so don't know whether you spread rumors or not. It is always helpful when making a declaration the your source be made know. Not looking for a discussion here just trying to find out the facts. Thx, Jimmie

P.S. One of my favs so I am disappointed.
P.S.S. Google search early this AM did not turn up anything - perhaps looking in the wrong place.

110th Street Grill

I went to the 110th Street Grill yesterday and the sign on the door said "The 110th Street Grill is closed. Thank you for your patronage"

kissmelatr 05-06-2014 10:35 AM

Oh no I love that place.....

Its tough for small businesses to survive in the Villages, I have seen dozens close over the years, they just can't afford the extreme costs of doing business with the developer.

Vernster 05-06-2014 10:56 AM

I believe the 110th street Grill was owned by the owners of Glenview Country Club. Same Prime Rib Specials on Thursdays. Same burger specials etc. My favorite server from Glenview transferred there to work because it was closer to her home.

I will miss it. Good place to go to avoid the crowds during the high season. It has been open for many years. I can't imagine what happened.

Isn't it located in Belleview, FL?

It's in Belview not in The Villages.

There it goes again....blame the developer!!! I may be wrong but don't think it is villages property.

gretchen1939 05-06-2014 11:26 AM

Wow, I was just there last week. I wonder what happened?

dolpterry 05-06-2014 11:57 AM

Went by there last Monday at noon and only 1 car in parking lot, I thought it was strange. We went last Friday and yes there was a closed sign on the door. Sad this was a great place and always packed, hope they reopen even bigger and better.

If the food is fresh, good and priced right , and if the place is CLEAN, the people will come. However, the owner may have borrowed too much money, is not there to watch employees, his inventory and cash register, it will fail. I am not saying this is the case at this restaurant. But there are other reasons for failure. And the landlord is not Santa, he needs his rent, so don't blame him.

Too often on TOTV a post is made with no corresponding source or confirmation.....................and sometimes it is just that a rumor.
I don't think you were being accused of anything. It was a fair question.

Ah, BUSTED! 110th Street Grill is NOT in The Villages. That being the case, I guess The Developer had nothing to do with closing it's door. I guess you can't add this to your list of reasons to hate the Developer. Shame, shame!

Maybe I should have asked Bonnie if it was true.

The OP with less than 100 posts just might have not known the nature of other posters here who need info sourced before they are willing to accept it as truth/fact?

golf2140 05-06-2014 08:59 PM

Gee the Morse family didn't have anything to do with this. Wow

110th Street Grill is not in The Villages. It is/was in Belleview, Fl several miles north of The Villages.

If you have the time, why don't you help us all understand exactly what are the extreme costs to which you refer.

Skip2MySue 05-07-2014 01:10 PM

Let's share this one

Maybe this is where the Cheesecake Factory is going to move to. At least it makes for a good rumor :)
