Atlas Canine Recreation Center

The Daily Sun reports at the meeting last night it was announced there will be a rec center for our fur friends FINALLY!!! Anyone hear the talk that could expand?

lovsthosebigdogs 05-15-2014 06:12 AM

OMG I can't wait to hear the details. This is a real tail wagger!

redwitch 05-15-2014 06:52 AM

Guess TV really has gone to the dogs. So, when do we get a kitty center?

skyguy79 05-15-2014 08:08 AM

Rec Center for dogs? I can see it now....

Is this in the Local section? I have a dog on my lap and cannot get up at this time.

What, you haven't trained the dog to go get the paper?

I hope they provide enough spaces in the barking lot.

Kitties wouldn't lower themselves to playing in common places. Can you imagine 25 cats sitting on top of kitchen cabinets, disdainfully looking down on whoever's at floor level?

He wants to chase the squirrels, rabbits, ducks, etc. around the neighborhood so I always try to keep him on leash. We also have snakes, alligators, coyotes, opossums in this area so that's probably not a good place for a 9 lb Chihuahua/terrier to be loose.

I hear this is in the first section of the paper today.

I just read this thread and your post to Fireboy and he is :1rotfl:

Biggins and Lollipop are waiting anxiously to hear more details about the Atlas Recreation Center for Pets.
I assume it will be in Fruitland Park?

I did not see any dog park on the plat map that has been posted on TOTV.
Why assume it will be there?

It is mentioned in an article about the Morse family's plans for the Villages in the front section of the May 15, 2014 paper. No mention of place or when it would open.

NotGolfer 05-15-2014 09:53 AM

We went to the meeting...yes a doggie park for you folks who have them. I think they showed a plat but it was hard to see on the screen provided. Not sure exactly where it's going to be located...somewhere off Morse to the south??!!

Sorry, no lowering of the tables. You'll need to get Bogeyboy platform shoes!

Sorry Danno, I have no facts.
Just pure speculation on my part.
There was a question mark at the end of my sentence.

I heard it called the Atlas Recreation Center.
I thought it might possibly be a new Rec Center in FP.
Maybe just a fancy name for a dog park.

Do you think they will have their own pool?

FlamingoFlo 05-15-2014 10:56 AM

Will they have a restaurant with outdoor seating so they can bring their people?

jane032657 05-15-2014 10:59 AM

It was shown at the meeting to be across or in the vicinity of the final country club in Brownwood, not Fruitland Park.

Erijo 05-15-2014 11:02 AM

Some of these are so funny, made me laugh out loud! Great sense of humors!

justjim 05-15-2014 11:23 AM

Very creative

I think the cats would prefer the indoor games... if they are invited

gomoho 05-15-2014 12:16 PM

Can someone that was at the meeting please clarify it will be more than a dog park. A rec center sounds sooooo much better - like maybe training rooms, and indoor fetch, and could it be possible - a water feature???

Yes, but the people will have to be trained to sit quietly under the table on leashes. And we all know people don't take too kindly to training.:evil6:
