Car Servicing
Time to get oil change, air filter, etc. changed on my Toyota. Any recommendations for an honest mechanic besides a Toyota dealer? Won't use Tire Plus at Colony. They want your SS number. Thanks.

You are kidding, they want your SS number. Unbelievable!!https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...ilies/oops.gif

Before I bought my new car I went to a ASE certified mechanic on 301. I don't remember the name off hand but he's right around the corner when you take a left off of 466 going west. After you take a left you go a short distance and he is on the left. He even has a sign in his office stating that he's honest. Before I went to him I went to Walmart but I switched over to him because, basically, his price was about the same. |
AccuTech on 301 in Oxford, one mile south of 466 on east side of highway.

Auto Repair in The Villages | Auto Service Center | Accurso Automobile Repair | Oxford, FL I am also looking for a good honest auto repair person.I am a snowbird and before my last trip up north I went to a local tire shop for an oil change.Had an $800 bill.I did not have time for a second estimate. They replace the water pump(I did see the residue of a small leak)flushed the cooling system, oil change, wiper blades and a new belt.I am not saying that the work did not need to be done but here in Pa my local shop would have charged $500. I will now take my car to Accurso |
Good luck, with wildwood tire so far seem's honest

While my cars are under warranty I go to the dealer or routine servicing. Some manufactures (like Honda) are eager pin it on maintenance ma-practice to void any warranty (make sure you save your RECIEPTS in case anything happens to prove to the manufacture you had it serviced).
Why take chance. Not under warranty I would probably still take Foreign Car to dealership for service (you say it's made in USA, but the manufacture is Foreign and their policies or procedures apply). No Matter where I take it I still Check their work before I leave the business Especially for overfilling. Even though they may be honest simple mistakes can still happen. |
Took my car to Blvd Tire in Fruitland Park for a "free" tire Rotation with Oil Change. Turns out after almost 2 hours they came and told me that my 2009 Buick needed $350 worth of work and that "unless" I got it done they would not recommend it for driving. I told them "No" I just want the "free" tire rotation with oil change and 30 minutes "later" ..... now 2 1/2 hours....I finally got the car back MINUS TIRE ROTATION! 26,000 miles later it's still running great!
Don't take it there unless your ready to get ripped!:boxing2: |

Anyway the past two times I needed service on my Honda, I went to a young man named Michael who had been recommended to me by friends. Michael is located about 2 miles east of Colony Plaza 1/2 block off of CR466A. Michael's, 307 N. Villa Ave., Fruitland Park. 352-365-2955. Reasonable prices and so darn honest. I absolutely trust him. |
Accu tech on 301, robbie is a great guy and knows cars. Highly recommend.
Great service and honest.

Giving a shout-out to our auto mechanic, Jeff Grover, owner-manager of Tire Round-Up of Lady Lake, Inc. This is a private shop, not part of a chain. Jeff and his crew do wonderful work, they're reasonably priced and very honest. If it's a job they don't do, he'll recommend someone who does, and the shops he recommends are also good, honest and reasonable. Tire Round-Up is located at 217 S. Hwy 27/441 in Lady Lake. Phone is 352-753-7400.
