Grillsseafood.com. Just north of Melbourne on US 1 on the inter-costal waterways. Tiki Bar Deck etc. 321-242-8999. Great place for lunch and dinner.

If you want great Italian food in Melbourne, try the Tuscany Grill 7640 N Wickham Rd

The Mansion is a long time icon of dinning in Melbourne

Best on the Indian River are Grills or Squidlips in Melbourne, Captain Hiram's in Sebastian. The Mansion is nice but it's not on the water. You can only see the river if you eat on the roof patio. For finer dining try the Yellow Dog or the Charthouse. Both are in Melbourne and on the river.

I agree with DougB, we love SquidLips! There chowder is to die for!

Ok, by the response I am seeing, there are a lot of you that know Melbourne area! I'm thinking, maybe we can have a Melbourne Club..... Lol! There are tons of great dining experiences in this area. I was just Squid Lips recently, I am thinking this weekend's Anniversary dinner should be at Capt Hirams to listen to some great music!
Cha, if you want waterfront dining, all of the above are ok, ( Tuscany Grill isn't on the water) downtown Melbourne is a great experience with lots of quaint places to shop!
Just know, i have to be here (Melbourne) for work. Wish I was in TV!..........

Coasters is an OUTSTANDING pub with a tremendous beer selection, very good food and excellent ownership.

IMO ... Squidlips is a good bar / location but I have always found the food average.

Breakfast and lunch Longpoint on A1A near the inlet. I think they also do dinners Friday and Saturday. Not much to look at but great food and very local clientele.

chachacha 06-25-2014 05:07 AM

well, since coasters did not seem to have a view of the water (it is in a shopping center) we opted for squid lips and the food was great...nice table looking at the indian river...delicious cocoanut shrimp, onion rings, bread (on request) my arteries are still recovering :) thanks for all the great suggestions...a two hour drive but pleasant.
