I will be moving to TV in October. Do you ever hear of singles who would like to travel (not in a group) and would like a companion? I'd only want to travel with other females. (I'm a female).
Just wondering...

welcome! i tried to get someone interested in my trip to sicily (which is now sicily AND spain AND keukenhoff gardens :) but so far no takers...perhaps at a meet and greet for you we could discuss where you are interested in going and get some enthusiasm for you! lots of my single friends want to travel and talk about going together. the company i just signed on with, Grand Circle Travel, offers single rooms and no single supplements! if you contact them please pm me as if i refer someone we each get $100 off our trip :)

i see that Gutsy Women Travel is also a division of Grand Circle, which also does OAT small groups Overseas Adventure Travel....there is also a singles travel company out of california, but it sounds like OP is not looking for group trips....many people like to rent a car and drive around on their own....i would be willing to go as a passenger but i will not volunteer to drive around europe :) nor do i enjoy rushing to catch trains... i personally like the camaraderie and care free feel of a group tour.

I will be there in January and would love some female travel companions. I will end my career in the Foreign Service in December and I am sure I will miss living around the world, so traveling for pleasure will be fun. Christina

i like the idea of a travel meet and greet...we will wait for meltonbeat and do one in oct. then when christina arrives in january she can give us the scoop on all her Foreign Service travels! and as for my bon ami Robeart Beau, i have found the perfect travel companions, my children, their spouses and my grandchildren! if a wonderful "special someone" comes along to join us, that would be a plus :) but superfluous! :)

I'm always interested in traveling. But, I'm saving my pennies now for my eventual move to TV.

Looks like January for me as well. Have some homes to sell here first. (my listings come first) Can't wait to meet up with all of you!

seems like a good idea to keep the oct idea for others here who are not here in january, and then we can have a repeat performance when snowbirds arrive! any other interested parties for oct?

I'm really excited about a possible singles travel group getting together. Although my money would probably be spent better elsewhere, the heart wants what the heart wants. Diane, maybe we should advertise the heck out of this, to see if there might be more singles interested, who don't get on this site.

By the way, is there some sort of singles travel club in TV already? Do the singles clubs arrange trips? Is one needed?

I don't know if there is a singles club in TV but I think that is an excellent idea. Perhaps after Diane has her get together and depending on interest we should look into forming a club.

I will be in TV in late October and would like to be a part of the group. We will be in TV a few days before our Villages cruise to the Bahamas in early November. My trips are limited right now as I'm saving my pennies for my move to TV!

My aunt used to travel with a group called 'Traveling Alone Together". I'm not sure if it is just for former airline employees. Their spouses didn't want to travel when they weren't working so this group was formed so they would have travel companions. My aunt has traveled with them through Grand Circle.

There are at least 3 major singles clubs in The Villages.

I have not heard of a singles travel club in TV, but at least the baby boomers club ha some members travel as a group, such as the Aruba cruise Ken and others and I went on. They had about 50 I think, aNd HAD SINGLE CABINS WITH no extra charge.

Yes, a singles travel club is exactly what I was talking about. I know there are 3 singles clubs in TV as I am in them. Actually, there are more than 3, there is the single beachcombers club (which I also am in) and perhaps others I'm not aware of. I was on that cruise that 50 of us went on and we all had a fantastic time. Would love to go on another with a group.

I went to grammer school with April Miranda, the founder of Gutsy Women travel. She is my friend on Facebook and I often see her pictures of the different trips she takes. It looks like a fun group of ladies!
