Hit and run golf cart accident. 39 yr old villager arrested.
A 39-year-old Village of Winifred man is facing a charge of leaving the scene of an accident following a hit-and-run golf cart crash.
Brian Mark Krajewski was booked into the Lake County Jail on Tuesday. He is accused of hitting the rear of a vehicle in a golf cart and then fleeing the scene. Law enforcement was able to track him down to the home he shares with his mother on Davidson Avenue in The Villages. Krajewski had been free on conditional release in connection with a 2012 case involving the aggravated battery of a pregnant woman. He is being held without bond and has a court date of July 23. |
I'd say that he's in big trouble.
Good job by out LE on nailing this guy. |
I'll take guess? Probably just left happy hour.:eclipsee_gold_cup: living with mommy he probably thinks he still 17.:jester: Mommy will bale him out probably like she has bunch of time before?:crap2:

His poor mother. She must be devastated, even if enabling.

I wonder how he was caught. Sounds as though he must have been followed to his home by someone who called the police.
It says he was booked into the Lake County jail. The Village of Winifred is in Sumter County. He must have been way over to the East side of The Villages when the accident happened. Chances are that he will not be a Villages resident much longer but resident of one of the county lockups for quite some time. |
Darn kids.

I'm glad he was caught

Just to throw in another view about the son living in The Villages. You who are so quick to judge, have you ever considered he is living here to take care of an invalid parent who might otherwise have to be in a nursing home.
I have no idea if this is the case, but neither do you who make such quick judgements. |

As someone at Doggie Doo Run Run commented this morning-- it is not wise to paint with a broad brush. This is especially true about people. |
Bob Ross painted with a broad brush many times and he was fascinating to watch!

I'M STILL LOOKIN EVEN 2 YEARS LATER
At 4:40 PM on Tue, July 17, 2012 near Morse & San Marino north of 466 a green golf cart crashed into the right side of my wifes car. The green golf cart driver sped off. The car is a gray Corvette with black convertable top that sustained major damage. Impact was such that it knocked off the vacuum control lines from the heater/AC unit located under the hood. Parts to be replaced are as follows: Right front fender, right front wheel, right door, right door glass, right mirror, right quarter panel. The green golf cart may have a bent roof top frame from hooking the right side mirror. The glass from the mirror impacted the passenger door glass hard enough to pit the door glass. This green golf cart has to have front damage and possibly bent roof/windshield supports. The cost to repair the vehicle is $6274.35 - This does not include 2 weeks of car rental. As Gracie Girl said Does anyone know someone with a green golf cart that appears damaged or who is not using their green golf cart? |

I hope you can find this person and hold him/her accountable for the damage to your wife's car. Not sure what the Statute of Limitations would be in this situation of a hit-and-run driver. |

I believe that auto insurance covers for hit and run damage to your car, doesn't it? I would also think that other drivers on Morse at San Marino Drive at 4:40 pm would have followed the golf cart to see where it went - while others were calling 911 for your wife. That is a very busy intersection and a busy time of day even in July. |

There's a short story about this in today's (7/11/2014) Villages Daily Sun on C3.
Sounds like the man lost his cell phone at the scene of the accident and the cops just turned it back on to see who it belonged to. |

At my country club up North, a couple of guys tried to steel a water fountain from a pond. Couldn't unchain it and left...........and.......left a billfold behind. :pepper2::pepper2: |

What's needed is some form of owner ID number on each golf cart. |
It would seem to me that given just a thumbnail sketch of this situation would be enough for people to make a conscious effort to remain reticent out of respect for this mother and for her privacy. One way or another she has more than her share of difficulty to deal with. If people are going to speak out then do so in the form of a prayer and acknowledgment of support
