Any day and every day is a gift from God.

But the weather come. By the grace of Mother Nature.
|
One thing for sure.....it will be what it will be!! I can almost guarantee sunshine, however. I installed a lovely rain chain this morning. Now, I can't wait for the next downpour. LOL

I heard it also, and the North is going to be getting Florida's weather. Good for me, I will be in FL next week leaving the North behind.

Still not sure how far south the vortex will be felt....some reports show our usual hot summer temps. Other reports show a few days of more moderate temps.
We all know Mother Nature can be fickle...so I'll just wait to see what happens...fingers crossed for the cooler weather though....:cold: ;) |
Well, looks like the weather site I normally use got hacked. Should have known it was too good to true! Sorry for the false alarm, guess it's time to turn the AC back down!

This is only my second summer here in TV, and I have felt it was extremely hot in July, with even more rain, than last year.
I have talked to several people who have been here for many years, and they said my impression was right, as this is the hottest they remember in TV. One person has lived here for 14 years. A couple of days in the 70's would be a blessing. So looking forward to it. |
We've been here since Oct, 2006 Joe and I don't recall such a wet July. It has been hot, but I'm not sure it has been the hottest in my time here....but whether or not it is, i't's still hot.
Lots of lightning tonight, lots! |
We've been here 12 years now and progressively it has started getting hotter much earlier in the year then when we first moved here. This year definitely is the wettest we've experienced with many more active storms containing much lightning. It's getting old really fast. Hope this is just a fluke season and not the trend .......

Dear rdhdleo,
I doubt your home thermometer is certified and capable of accurately measuring temperature according to NOAA standards. (Sorry, I can't link the standards due to talk of the villages restrictions, but just search: “national weather service standards for recording temperature” in google and the first result will be the NOAA directives in pdf form.) Temperature in The Villages (“TV”) does not vary much from location to location, but you are correct that due to the nature of thunderstorms, precipitation can vary widely which is the reason I noted precipitation in TV was below average, but I didn't provide a specific number. Historic average rainfall in TV for the month of June – 7.18 inches Actual 2014 rainfall total for the month of June in TV by village: La Zamora - 5.89 inches Caroline on Lake Sumter - 2.76 inches (Must be an equipment failure.) The Villages of Gilchrist - 5.14 inches Virginia Trace – 5.83 inches Silver Lake - 5.93 inches There are a few other official recording sites that I did not check. Throw me a village and I'll check for you. I am not sure how to grep the data I want all at once, so I have been manually checking. Keep in mind that the above average rainfall can be skewed by tropical events which can drop enormous amounts of rainfall in a short period of time. |
