Flippers in Spanish Springs

VT2TV 08-20-2014 11:07 PM

Sorry to say, but in my opinion, there really isn't one. There are some we go to, but would only consider them to be "okay".

69Ludwigs 08-20-2014 11:47 PM

Mallory CC !

69Ludwigs 08-20-2014 11:48 PM

Best Caesar salad too.

mtdjed 08-20-2014 11:55 PM

Pizza preference is a personal thing. And while pizza in TV is not great, considering price and taste I vote for Dominoes in Wildwood

mulligan 08-21-2014 04:51 AM

I would submit that while pizza preference can be subjective, IMHO, the best pizza VALUE is little caesar's in Fruitland park (next to the post office. 1cheese and 1 supreme for $15, you can't go wrong. And if you call, it's always ready when you get there.

I second that motion.

Chi-Town 08-21-2014 08:57 AM

Home Run Inn everything or all meat pizza in Winn Dixie's frozen foods section.

Papa Cuma 08-21-2014 11:54 AM

I've had enough ! By far without any doubt without question, any Pizzeria in Brooklyn is better than the swill found in the rest of my beloved country. Hands down by far in my arrogant New York opinion.

bachfan 08-21-2014 02:29 PM

I second home run inn for great frozen pizza. The Blue Highway in Ocala has GREAT pizza. I'm from the Philadelphia area ( South Jersey) and lived on pizza.

Got to ask: Are you a fan of Philly style pizza.....trying to get a Philly flavor into a pizza. Or is that just trying to mix two good things into one and it doesn't work??

Totally agree!

Everyone we have tried, in our opinion, is "Okay" AT BEST !

gatherer47 08-21-2014 08:24 PM

agree with those who say "there really isn't one"

onslowe 08-21-2014 08:31 PM

Flippers in Spanish Springs and Belleview Pizza.

mtdjed 08-21-2014 08:32 PM

Try a pepperoni pizza a Flippers and one at Dominoes. At least I can find the pepperoni on Dominoes. They are equally bad but Dominoes is cheaper.

Walter123 08-22-2014 07:27 AM

DIY on the grill.

collie1228 08-22-2014 08:07 AM

He tried the pizza from Luigino's in Spanish Springs last week based on a neighbor's recommendation. We are originally from an area where pizza is done well in most Italian restaurants, and we hadn't found much we liked in Florida. Much to our surprise the mushroom and peperoni pizza at Luiginos was excellent, with a good, yeasty crust. This will now be our go-to place for pizza.

Aandjmassage 08-22-2014 08:38 AM

We had the Alfredo pizza with chicken at Luigino's yesterday very good and Kristen is great server there.

I don't know, but have you tried Mellow Mushroom? Delicious but the closest one is over around Mount Dora I think.

festusrules 08-22-2014 10:16 AM

Mallory's is very good.

zcaveman 08-22-2014 12:03 PM

My problem with pizza in TV and surrounding areas is that they are not consistent. You get a great pizza a couple of times and the next time it is not that good.

I go to the place in Mulberry and the people in the back have not changed but the pizza is different. Less condiments, condiments in the center, cheese not out to the pizza edge, etc. I am not singling them out because I have the same problems at other pizza places also.

My pizzas were always the same at Mario's in Andover, NJ. Not that I would want to move back there just for a pizza.

WOW, I'm surprised it took 15 post before a New Yorker to pipe in and tell you how much better pizza in NY is.

2newyorkers 08-25-2014 06:49 PM

Pavarotti's in Ocala.

gustavo 08-25-2014 08:29 PM

IIRC, isn't NY the best at everything?

travelguy 08-25-2014 08:35 PM

the title of this thread is best pizza. there is no such thing in florida. i have given up trying to find it. now we buy the pizza dough at publix and we make our own. and it is delicious.

cattywampus 08-25-2014 09:10 PM

The thin crust Pizza from the Mallory CC is Best IN The Villages

The Margherita is 1st Choice

Anything else they make is also Very good.

jrandall 08-25-2014 09:59 PM

I want to try their dough and make pizza at home. Is their dough good? Are there any special hints you can give? Do you cook it on a stone? Do you sprinkle corn meal on the pan/stone under the crust? What do you use for the sauce?

Give us some hints here. I've also given up trying to find good pizza here. And whoever said Mezzaluna, you must be kidding! You are, right?

2BNTV 08-26-2014 04:25 AM

Domino's and Little Ceasars. :1rotfl:

NYPD Pizza gets my vote on 466.

If Anthony's Coal Fire Pizza ever moves a chain to TV, then I would vote for them. The one in Ft. Lauderdale is great.

I have lost the illusion, there is fine dinning in TV. Decent food, but not great.

PaPaLarry 08-26-2014 04:30 AM

Belleview Pizza! Really, really good but closed on Mondays, and they only take cash!!

There is an Anthony's Coal Fire in Altamonte Springs...a little closer than Ft. Lauderdale!
