She went into cardiac arrest after undergoing throat surgery.

I like Joan Rivers. At 81, she is still a smart lady with a lot of energy. I hope she recovers quickly.

Her humor may not be for everyone but She always makes me laugh but the comments I have read on a couple of the gossip sites ( I know, why am I reading those sites) ... the comments are absolutely the nastiest I have ever seen about another human being.. Honestly- people are unbelievably cruel. One actually said that they hoped her daughter got run over and killed on the way to the hospital.. The ability to post on the internet must bring out the beast in people .....yes.. beast.. not best..

The local CBS station is reporting that Joan Rivers is on life support, and her family will decide in the next few days whether to pull the plug. Very sad.

am so upset. what a great lady. has always been able to pull herself up and deal with whatever life has thrown at her. an inspiration to women and men everywhere.

Very sad. She is a great talent. This must be so difficult for her daughter.

I don't blame her for storming out. How unprofessional. Reporter was very disrespectful to Ms. Rivers. Talk about tarnished journalism!

The News Release I read said she is "being kept comfortable". I hope that means that she is off life support and recovering.

I used to think 81 was very old, but now I think it's the prime of life!

NY Health Officials Open Investigation Into Joan Rivers Surgery | NBC New York


According to local NBC News in NYC, New York health officials have opened an investigation on the clinic that performed the routine surgery on Joan Rivers.

Just kind of curious - how many facelifts and plastic surgeries has Joan had? When she was on The Apprentice a couple of years ago, one side of her face looked deformed due to a facelift.

Hope she recovers fully, of course.
