Is this Funny?

Looking around on YouTube and came across this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQlEIvcpYng

I didn't think it was funny... I didn't think it was much of anything.
Is there such a rule regarding renters? Sounds a bit far-fetched.

gerryann 09-07-2014 02:59 PM

Yes it's funny! No, there's no rule like this.......it's a comedy routine.....

Blessed2BNTV 09-07-2014 03:01 PM

Agree with Gerryann.

Serenoa 09-07-2014 03:02 PM

Hilarious!! Can't wait to live in TV & be "hammered & medicated".

:agree: And I still have my "real" knees.....and my sense of humor.

justjim 09-07-2014 03:07 PM

It's a joke without the facts. No such rule. A Comedian can get away with demeaning anyone---even those living in TV.

ladylilly 09-07-2014 03:15 PM

Of course it was FUNNY. Just because we've had our knees replaced, doesn't mean we don't have a funny bone. Reality is just as humorous today as slap-stick was in our day. Lighten up, at least we don't watch the 3 stooges any longer.

Gosh... I had no idea... thank you for explaining about the comedy routine thing.

Still... I don't think it's that clever when you have to base a routine on a totally made up premise.

It is entirely possible that her parents did tell her this was a rule either because they didn't want any house guests, didn't want her or were told this by the homeowner. Regardless, it was funny.

Of course, you could just find her web site and set her straight. That way, she'll know she can visit her parents next time.

MikeV 09-07-2014 04:39 PM

I laughed - a little. Well maybe it was just a giggle.

DonH57 09-07-2014 04:41 PM

I thought it was funny. I've always liked her humor and her contributions to our troops with USO shows.

LI SNOWBIRD 09-08-2014 08:38 AM

Yes!

NYGUY 09-08-2014 09:45 AM

It was so funny I posted it on Facebook!!

tedquick 09-08-2014 10:09 AM

Very!!!

buzzy 09-08-2014 10:25 AM

I don't understand how anybody can get to retirement age and still take a stand-up-commedian seriously.

I posted to facebook, too. It's hilarious!

DruannB 09-08-2014 10:55 AM

I posted it on my TV page on Pinterest. Thanks guys for perking up my otherwise gloomy day.

Indydealmaker 09-08-2014 12:30 PM

Yes, it is a comedy routine, but her Father really did tell her about the restriction. He just wanted to keep the CRAZY daughter away from his friends!

rubicon 09-08-2014 12:47 PM

I understand the humor and don't mind but I wish the same people who like telling these isolated/hyperbolic stories about The Villages would also inform their audience of the how many participate in the senior games, how our softball teams are national competitors, etc etc, etc

Wandatime 09-08-2014 01:55 PM

 Funny. But then, I LOVE cornball jokes.

PS -- I also posted it on my facebook page.

Who took it seriously? It just seemed mildly amusing (at best) and rather pointless when based on a false premise.
If, as some suggested, she later mentions that she found out there was no such rule but her folks didn't want her visiting... funny because it's possible.
She could have mentioned that her folks liked to attend "Swap Meets" with other couples. When she told them she didn't know they enjoyed flea markets they rolled their eyes...

Anyway, she's usually funnier that that.

Aandjmassage 09-08-2014 04:38 PM

Sounds like joke was on her. They were saying please don't stay! We can only take so much of you. In the nicest way they could figure out.

When we first bought here, I told my wife grandkids weren't allowed to spend the night. Unfortunately she found out otherwise.
