Happy or Grouchy?

Which one are you in the morning?
Happy? Grouchy? And for those who are grouchy, what time do you get happy?

Haven't had even one grouchy morning since December 28, 2013.

Coincidentally, we moved to The Villages on December 28, 2013.

Happy! I'm a morning person. Nighttime I get grouchy around 9......oh my the clock is ticking!

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 09-08-2014 07:35 PM

I'm either Sleepy or Dopey. But I might also be Groggy as well.

dotti105 09-08-2014 07:39 PM

I am not a morning person! Not at all!!

Too many years as a RN doing shift work! My hubby, bless his heart, is a morning person. He's up by 0700 and ready for bed at 2230-2300. Not me!! I wake up, if un disturbed around 1030 and easily stay up until 0200-0300.

We also have time zone issues to complicate things. I have worked in Ca for the past 10 yrs. so I have serious sleep issues.

Tomorrow is my last day of work!! Yahoo. Then I can join my hubby in TV fulltime. I am hoping to get my internal clock reset as I will no longer be commuting.

As for mornings...we aren't coffee drinkers, I need a little time to clear out the cobwebs and
A half hr on the lanaii looking out over Killdeer and Evans Prairie does that for me.

I wouldn't say I'm grumpy, rather a bit spacey. Within 30-45 mins I'm fully functional. But I don't think I'll ever be up to view the sunrise. Sunset is fine with me!!

asianthree 09-08-2014 07:54 PM

:mornincoffee: not a morning person till my coffee

Happy, I love the morning!!

redwitch 09-08-2014 08:40 PM

Not a morning person but rarely grouchy. As long as I get five hours sleep, the world is good. No five hours, folks need to duck around one. Then I'm seriously grouchy until I get my power nap.

tippyclubb 09-08-2014 08:45 PM

I'm a grump until noon. After that I'm happy all day and night and have always been a night owl. Tom wakes up talking and smiling. I'm like oh please be quiet.

Aandjmassage 09-08-2014 09:17 PM

We get up around 8:00 and go to the pool and/or hot tub life is good. Happy:)

tainsley 09-08-2014 10:36 PM

Happy, happy, happy! I get up at 4:30 and I try to go back to sleep. Making coffee at 5! Love the mornings !

CFrance 09-08-2014 10:55 PM

I love the mornings, but only if I don't have to do anything with them. Drink coffee and check email. Enjoy the sunshine coming in through the lanai. I'm not grouchy, but I'm happiest when everything's quiet and I don't have to address anything till 10 a.m.

Grumpy!! 24/7 that's me. My mother in law gave me the name of Gregory Grump and my wife has continued the monicker ever since. I usually go to sleep somewhere between midnight and 2 AM and am up by 7 AM. We have two little alarm clocks that want to be fed at 7 AM.

Woohoo Dotti! Congratulations on your last day!

Safe travels to TV.

rubicon 09-09-2014 05:42 AM

Up at 4:00 AM need the quiet of morning, to read the paper with my two cups of coffee and then I can face the world. Getting up very early is a habit and started because following my stint in the Navy and being married worked fulltime and went to college fulltime and so early mornings were essential for studies. wish i still had that kind of energy today:(

Love2cruise 09-09-2014 07:59 AM

Happy, as long as there is coffee!

DonH57 09-09-2014 08:12 AM

I'm just as happy as if I had good sense! :)

MarkinMd 09-09-2014 08:12 AM

Happy since I retired. Congratulations Dotti.

Amfunny 09-09-2014 08:16 AM

I am the same way. Don't look for me before 10 am or I will be grouchy as I don't go to bed until 2 or 3. It's a shame that life stops around 9 pm here.

I'm a night owl too, let's get together and do something while everyone else is sleeping. The Village night owls social group.

tomwed 09-09-2014 11:19 AM

Every night I dream I'm a substitute teacher and the days isn't going well. When I wake up and realize it was just a dream, I'm happy.

Until now, I never appreciated the upside of a bad dream. :)

2BNTV 09-09-2014 11:28 AM

Happy all the time, and even happier, if I have a couple of drinks. :beer3:

Pointer 09-09-2014 01:21 PM

I wake up . . I'm happy, I go look in the mirror smile and declare, "I'm back"! Then it's time for a good ole cup of tea.

I agree, me too!
Wonder what science says about our happy or grouchy nature?

Still having time zone issues? How long have you been here?I lived literally half way around the world. I had a twelve hour time difference and I adjusted after one day.

DougB 09-10-2014 05:58 AM

It's too early in the morning right now for these kind of questions. Can y'all keep it down. And turn off the light.
