The Villages on TV

I was just watching Inside Edition and saw a glimpse of TV but it didn't show anything afterwards. Anyone know anything about TV being on Inside Edition?

Sable99 09-22-2014 07:17 PM

I don't know about Inside Edition but, we get The Villages commercials several times a day here in Michigan.

starflyte1 09-22-2014 07:17 PM

Something may be on Inside Edition tomorrow night about TV. It is scheduled, but may be bumped.

gerryann 09-22-2014 07:51 PM

It's a story about the infamous sex on the squares and how we have 10 to 1 women to men and how we're all promiscuous and full of STD's......the usual.

It's supposed to be on inside edition some day this week. A bunch of folks were interviewed here for the show.....fun times

Here is the link to the Inside Edition advertisement, not good.

That's too funny, 10 to 1. Much better [or worse I suppose] then Surf City by a long shot. If they run the piece do you think that will also be online?

Aandjmassage 09-22-2014 08:35 PM

If I find it will post here.

Sounds very classy. :cus:

This is hysterical.
Let's take an even number of say, 100,000 residents.
If women are 10 to 1 then does that mean we have 90,000 nymphomaniacs running loose in our community???

This is even funnier than I originally thought!

I have not met any.

The 10:1 refers to the SINGLES in The Villages. That figure was two years ago. It may even be higher now!:a040:

2BNTV 09-23-2014 05:35 AM

If the 10 to 1 ration of women to men is anywhere near the truth, then every single man would have a different flavor of the week. :D

Sometimes, so called news reporting makes me sick with their inaccuracies. To them, it's all about the ratings.

Bonnevie 09-23-2014 08:57 AM

this is interesting because they interviewed the president of sumter singles for this and at the last meeting he said this would tell the other side of the story....so that video shows that it's either going to portray The Villages the same old way or hopefully it will present the other side of the story. will be interesting to see the edit.

Bonnevie 09-23-2014 09:04 AM

just got the following email from Sumter Singles:

730pm, on CBS will be the airing of the show. I do not like the title of the show. I stated very clearly to the producer that we would not participate in any program that related to sex or disease. Nothing in the interview that Lynda and I participated in was related to these subjects. I guess we can only hope that they do not twist anything we said

sunnyatlast 09-23-2014 09:19 AM

Why don't they just get the jealous, humorless haters of the developer together in a room to tell viewers the place sucks because he's a "rich" r---------.

That would show their judgmental agenda.

do you mean today?

Bonnevie 09-23-2014 09:39 AM

yes the sumter singles email was just sent. they were interviewed on Monday. Show will be on today and the come on is all the sexual aspect. hoping that's the come on and they will air a balanced story

Steve & Deanna 09-23-2014 09:46 AM

It appears that Inside Edition is just trash television. Bet their ratings are just where they belong....in the toilet. I think we've watched the show under five times, if that, since it's been on. We'd rather watch Jeopardy anyway.

jim1941 09-23-2014 10:14 AM

On the bright side, your property value will be going up!

Barefoot 09-23-2014 10:17 AM

Trash tabloids, sleazy reporting, television shows that grab attention with sensationalized headlines ....
People find anything that mentions wrinklies and sex in the same article to be hilarious ....
Facts that are misleading and statistics that are twisted are best ignored.
Not a true portrayal of our community, as we all know.

cmj1210 09-23-2014 10:32 AM

I just checked my tv listings & this is not on in NY today. Baseball is playing @ that time

Chi-Town 09-23-2014 10:44 AM

Didn't P.T. Barnum say there was no such thing as bad publicity?

He's also known to have said "there's a sucker born every minute".

I'd say they are the buyers of the National Enquirer, The Globe, Sun, and all that other trash at the checkout line, and will be watching Inside Edition.

champion6 09-23-2014 12:57 PM

I just set my Dish DVR. The preview for tonight's airing of Inside Edition says, "One of the sexist retirement villages in the country."

 Sheesh! :ohdear:

manaboutown 09-23-2014 01:29 PM

Directv is showing it at 3:30 PDT. My DVR is set to record it. I need a few laughs.

Dreamer61 09-23-2014 09:15 PM

I missed it but for some reason I don't think I missed a thing!

cromlich 09-24-2014 06:36 AM

It was a disgusting piece ! Tried to make The Villages out to be sex crazed. Again, bringing up the "sex on the square" piece. Played on the singles clubs and party time atmosphere.......I for one was sorry it got any attention at all.

Bay Kid 09-24-2014 06:52 AM

Bad news sells. Shame on Inside Edition for even running such trash.

free advertising, good or bad, it is still free advertising...

who wouldn't want to live here, every night square activity dancing....i mean it's a no brainer...

LI SNOWBIRD 09-24-2014 09:01 AM

At least I got to see that little weasel Andrew D. Blechman who wrote "Leisureville: Adventures in a World Without Children"

Bay Kid 09-25-2014 07:45 AM

Trash

Way2Old 09-25-2014 08:16 AM

Well we now know what kind of show 'Inside Edition' is, trash. I wouldn't call it news or responsible.

tomwed 09-25-2014 10:33 AM

This is interesting and news to me. I never watched that show.

"The first anchor of the program was David Frost, who was replaced after approximately three weeks with Bill O'Reilly. The current anchor is former Today anchor Deborah Norville, who took over for O'Reilly in 1995. Steve Kamer has been the show's announcer since its inception." wikipedia

Wouldn't that make a great trivia question?
What was the name of the tabloid tv news show that was once anchored by David Frost and Bill O'Reilley?

Inside Edition

dloridami 09-25-2014 04:39 PM

it cannot be any worse of a "hit piece" than that 17 page (online anyway) piece of garbage that young reporter (?) for one of the online blogs wrote about TV 2 or 3 weeks ago. Total trash! Best line I remember: "and they literally hand out Viagra for free at every restaurant, health club and bar" Yea right!
