Home Goods Store

I heard it was announced Home Goods was coming to the Villages. Has anybody seen an announcement on this?

pooh 09-24-2014 05:45 PM

Where was it announced? The Home Goods webpage shows two new stores opening in Florida fairly soon, but makes no mention of The Villages.

Rumor, rumor !!

MikeV 09-24-2014 09:34 PM

I sure hope this is just a rumor because my wife would bankrupt us. :1rotfl:

Store manager in Orlando told us it was happening. Said it will be here by May.

KittyKat 09-25-2014 12:02 AM

My friend knows someone in the Decorating Club and one of the decorators said the store was to open in the new Publix shopping center on 44.

2BNTV 09-25-2014 04:44 AM

The last time I was in Home Goods, I asked the clerk to take my picture and ban me from the store. :D

I hope this is true as someone I know mentioned it to me, but until I see it, then I will believe it.

Deseylou 09-25-2014 05:14 AM

Oh my
I hope this is true
I live soooo close

NotGolfer 09-25-2014 12:50 PM

LOTS of ladies here will be most happy! That store should do a bang-up business for sure!! Think of ALL the people from outside of T.V. who will also come and spend $$$ !!!! It will be a good thing! :pepper2:

mrsyarbie 09-25-2014 02:20 PM

A friend and fellow villager stopped in the new shopping center real estate store and was told YES there will be a Home Goods store in the new Publix shopping center. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was about 3 weeks ago.

2BNTV 09-25-2014 04:32 PM

The only bad thing about having a Home Goods store is you may have to file for bankruptcy.

It usually costs me my lungs by the time I leave the store. :D

Great News !!!

Keep an eye on their website; HomeGoods | Blog | Unique Home Decor and Affordable Home Furnishings. They post their new store openings in a timely manner.

Me and many of my friends would be thrilled if Home Goods opened here. The area so desperately need it! It's a mystery why the powers that be haven't figured this out!! The retail around here is the pits!!! I'm happy to spend my money in other counties if that's what it takes!!

skip0358 09-26-2014 06:54 AM

Was by the new Publix the other day looked like some site work going on to the west of the shopping center. If anything would think a stand alone store as the other stores seem way to small. Would like to see it but there goes my budget !

asianthree 09-26-2014 07:39 AM

A steinmart would be the icing on the cake

Could it be, that they got the rumor off TOTV?

Bonny 09-26-2014 09:45 AM

I went on Home Goods Store locator. They showed where stores were and where they are coming in Florida. It showed several, but none in the Villages.
Here is the link.

Maybe they are afraid of the Stampede !! People camping out all night.

Bogie Shooter 09-26-2014 11:21 AM

What is it that makes all those imports from China so attractive at Home Goods?

Look at their incredible selection of table lamps, and their prices mostly under $50, and then go and see the pathetic selection of 2 of those same lamps at the lighting store here, for $200 each.

Anybody in their right mind would drive 36 miles to Home Goods-Marshalls and come home with a whole roomful of accessories and small furnishings for about $300.

It's much more fun to believe a rumor than to believe the Home Goods website!

It's coming!

I couldn't help myself so I called the manager of the Orlando Home Goods store just a few minutes ago. He said YES a Home Goods has been approved for The Villages and will come some time next year!! YIPEE!!

I think one of the reasons is that there is always something different there, you will rarely find the same thing everyday. That is why we go there, always different and usually unique. Even if you don't buy anything, it is fun to just look.

Something like Sears or Harbor Freight for men...they love to see the tools. Now do you understand, Bogie

paulascorpio 09-26-2014 02:14 PM

If this is true, I am doing a "Happy Dance"!!!! I LOVE HOME GOODS…...

NYGUY 09-26-2014 02:26 PM

Maybe this is why we heard the rumor a few months ago that Marshall's was going into the new Publix plaza. They are owned by the same company as Home Goods. Maybe they got the two stores confused......or, could both be going in that plaza?

jnieman 09-26-2014 02:38 PM

They are in together. All one store

2BNTV 09-26-2014 04:29 PM

Home goods will make a fortune in TV. Quality goods at reasonable prices.
Besides they would have a captive audience of 110,000 plus.

Now, if only we can get a Traders Joe.

jebartle 09-26-2014 04:29 PM

I'm soo excited...

Now there is NO reason to leave TV....giggle....
