Choice of realtor in TV.
Many of you have been helpful and have given me direction as to who they enjoyed working with looking for a house in TV. Still would love to hear more from anyone who had a great experience.
I had communication with one realtor that did not seem overly enthusiastic about messing around with us, knowing that we did not intend to decide on a house for months, possible a year. I certainly can understand that, having been in sales myself, but ........ >:( I don't want anyone to stick their neck out, and if you wish to contact me outside the forum that would be fine, but I would like to know who to avoid, in your opinion, also who was your favorite Representative from the developer. We talked to the one assigned to us and she sounded like she was 12 years old, but I imagine they have child labor laws down there. Actually I am counting the hours and minutes til we fly down on Monday. Hope to see you all at Crispers next week. Warning! I am a hugger! |

Call Michele Halloy at 800-346-4556 or 352-753-2270. She's a real pro and has the patience of a saint. She'll show you whatever you want to see whether you're ready to buy or not.

Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
Anyone, I'd like your opinions, please:
I'm on my THIRD realtor from TV and can I just change to another one without a problem. I'm so disappointed with the people I've been working with. If I can, I'll try Michelle. Thanks for your opinions, I'm sure I'll get good advice. |
Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
Kathie,
Paul Jewell was absolutely wonderful. He spent countless hours with us, showed us everything from doublewides to million dollar homes, did not PUSH us on anything, and stayed in good Humor the whole time. (and hes adorable to boot!) Very easy on the eyes. I think you would be very pleased. |
Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
Nonie, is he with TV realtors? Can you pm me his phone number. Thanks, Kathie

Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
We had a great TV realtor. Casey Stangle--(referred to us by another Village resident). We came in Sept--on a schedule--two weeks to buy a place and close. (actually took 2-1/2 wks). Bought a resale. We thought we knew what we wanted but changed our minds more than once. He was very patient with us--always available when we needed him.

Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
I can't believe what I'm reading and what I've heard about real estate agents and the overall consumer experience with them!
Though I am not located in TV nor have a Florida real estate license, I am a full-time Real Estate Consultant/Realtor in Northern VA (just outside of DC). Word of mouth (in person and online) travels fast and my reputation would be destroyed if I ever treated my buyers like that. In fact, I would probably be without most of my business if I acted like some of these agents. But that's just me... Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
Dan, you are so right! I don't understand how these people (so-called professionals) get away with it. My THIRD TV realtor hasn't bothered to call me since mid April? I don't get it. They act like they are God's gift and we should all be thankful that they're even giving us the time of day! What's with these people.
Compared to the agents in Los Angeles, where I have bought 6 homes in the years I have been here, I have never been treated like this. Even giving them the benefit of the doubt, they must deal with a lot of looky loos who probably drive them crazy, BUT, when you have a bonafide buyer, why treat them like :edit:!!? It absolutely boggles my mind and am so glad to hear your impression of this situation. Gosh I wish these people were more professional and courteous. Thanks, Kathie I |
Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
We were lucky enough to find "The Twins" Jean and June who are with the Villages. We were just casual lookers our first year down there and they just were willing to give us so much information and their time...knowing that we were not certain at all of what we wanted to do. They stuck with us and showed us so many different options. They helped us find a great house and with no pressure!

Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
I would recommend Barb Dingle with The Villages Sales. She is so easy to talk with, very professional, and has a lot of patience.
I would not use Penny Chamberlain & Chris Holbrook. We bought our house off of them and they were not helpful at all. |
Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
Dealing with "looky loos" is part of the job. I work with buyers and sellers for months, if not a year before they're ready to buy.
With the technology available today, there's no excuse for not wanting to work with someone who's a ways out from being ready to sell/buy. It's a piece of cake to set up a buyer on an automated email drip campaign of updates on new and existing properties in an area. Once it's set up, it sends the emails automatically without the agent having to lift a finger. I follow up with them every so often via email and phone to touch base and let them know that when they have any questions or concerns or they're ready to make a move, I'm available. It's really not that hard or time consuming. And it's not like Florida is further behind technologically than Northern VA/DC so there's no excuse. Glad that there are some agents down there that still understand and put the client first. And don't be afraid to give them praise. Most often, it's the bad news that broadcast. It should be also the good when it's deserved. |
Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
I have a friend that really wants to move to The Villages. She came down about 3-4 years ago on the preview. Her TV agent was Carol Kramer. Carol has kept in touch with her--calls her often to see how she is doing-if she is ready to come-if she has any questions at all. More like a friend than a sales person. My friend has visited twice in the past year and Carol is always available to spend time with her. Even has offered to help her find a job.

Debra Park with TV sales is fabulous, do a search here and you'll find quite a few references.
Here's one link I started when searching. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/sm...ic,4155.0.html |
Re: Choice of realtor in TV.
We also had "The Twins" Jean & June as our realtors at The Villages. At first we were just casually looking around and we were up front with them...as we were not serious buyers. But they kept in touch for almost 2 years and just gave us the information we sought and with absolutely no pressure. So when we decided this was the place for us...they were the ones we called with no regret!
