Essential Golf Cart Extras
My husband and I will be doing our first golf cart shopping this weekend. We have already decided on a new 4 seat gas cart. What do you consider to be necessary or good to have extras?
|
Seat belts.

I second both of the above posts. If you plan to use cart a lot and not just for golf good upgraded seats with lumbar support are wonderful !
|
A good stereo
|
GPS app for your smart phone.
|
Gas gauge, make sure it goes 20 mph. Curtains,
|
radio for sure
|
Seat belts, 12volt outlet, shelf for storage of items like hats etc. upgraded seats. If you buy from a reputable dealer it should already have speedo, lights, turn signals etc. price isn't always everything.
|
All good suggestions.....I will add another......get a fan for the hot weather, ours is a lifesaver.
Send me a PM and I will give you the name of our salesman. He is the best, and will take care of you after the sale.:coolsmiley: |
In addition to all the good suggestions....Insurance. I prefer electric but that's a whole other thread.
|
If it a Yamaha get auxiliary front lights. The headlights are average at best.
|
make sure you have the new LED headlights that are available
|
I suggest inside turn signal indicators that are mounted high on the windshield and are bright. We recently had our low mounted indicators replaced with bright units 1/2 way up the windshield (at the top of the lower half).
Now I do not drive a long distance with a turn signal on. Dom |
Even better, we have the sure signals that actually beep. They are fairly loud so you can hear them over the gas cart. In my opinion, the beeping ones are better than the ones you have to look at. A friend of mine has the ones that light on the dash and don't beep, and she forgets to turn them off. With a beeper you can't forget to turn them off. It could be a life saver.

Look to install LED white and Amber switchback directionals on the front of your cart. These strips have daytime bright white running lights and when you use your turn signal the Amber will flash. The carts standard turn siginal are hard to see by others because they are very small. The LED strips are around14 in long and mounted under the headlight or over them.

Compare carts The Villages sells with:
-Grandma & Grandpa's Village Buggies (owner is a Villager) -Carts and Clubs in Ocala (Yamaha Dealer/**I have 2 of their carts) Just Google their names for the websites. Happy shopping! |
No one mentioned a speedometer. Especially if you have a cart that goes over 20mph. Also a speedometer also has an odometer which is kind of nice to have to see how many miles you have driven.

I put 10 ply tires on mine, for road use, got tired of going through a set of tires every winter. Horn, digital amp gauge, large review view mirror, clicker on turn signal, quality headlights so you can see at night, hopped up motor, and locking glove box.

Front window screen. There is a Villager named Tom and he installs front window screen. Great for love bug season and when it gets hot.
If you need Tom's number pm me and I will look it up. |
Nice seat a must. I added a one piece windshield for better visibility.
