OCTOBERFEST Mallory Square -Oct 28 at 5 pm
 

Have been wanting to go to Mallory Country Club and thought some of you might want to celebrate Octoberfest. Their last special Tuesday Octoberfest event dining will be October 28 - starts at 3 p.m. until closing. From 4 - 7 p.m. you can enjoy "Ron the Music Man". WHAT ABOUT GETTING TOGETHER AT 5 pm so we can enjoy the view, and take advantage of the Happy Hour, if desired.

HAPPY HOUR from 2 - 6 pm, with reduced pricing on drinks.

SPECIAL MENU -Wienerschnitzel, with spaetzle and braised red cabbage $10.95. Also Bratwurst & Knockwurst with creamy beer mustard sauce, spaetzle and red cabbage for $9.95.
They are located 1675 Odell Circle. 352-430-2359.

ANYONE GAME? Maybe some would want to later head out to Lake Sumter for more entertainment.

Who is Ron the Music Man? Will they be serving any good German beers?

oh, so glad you posted this! i love their oktoberfest, used to be on wednesdays! count me in for weinerschnizel....ron the music man plays the accordion in full german regalia, lederhosen etc and does a lot of fun german music as well as normal stuff :) hope many can make it for a sure to be good time...let us know here so we can reserve enough space as it gets crowded. october has gone by so fast i almost missed this annual event!

I will get there before 5 pm when we have arranged our meetup, as I just learned Mallory won't take reservations, so will get there a bit earlier to hopefully save a table or two!

Would love to have you with us. I am hopeful we will be o.k. as Mallory does not take reservations, so I will get there about 4:30 and hold down the fort - and hopefully a table or two. There probably will be more patrons coming in closer to 5 or 6 I would think, so it probably will be fine.

Since they do not take reservations, I think it would be best if we all arrived at the same time, if we want to all sit together. They might allow you to hold one table until your friends arrive, but 1/2 hour is pushing it, and I really doubt they'd allow one person to hold two tables. It might be better for us all to come at one time and simply wait until they have enough seating for all of us. we could "talk among ourselves" while waiting! But, surething, it is your call, and I'll arrive whenever you say!

I thought about this issue, Bill, and agree with you. Am pretty sure the restaurant would not be too happy to have someone holding down even one table, so I think we should meet at 4:30 pm and see how things look at that time. Whoever can make it at 4:30, we'll see you then and if others can join us later, that would be great! We will have a good time and since Dianne can't be there until 5:00 or later, and requested we hold a seat, I am sure that will be easy to do. This is her birthday month, after all!

I tried the Mallory CC Oktoberfest a few weeks ago and had the schnitzel it was awesome!

Plus the Spaten Beer was not bad either :-)

Who is counting? I can come earlier than 430 and ask for a big table...

We have 12, but not clear if "Tomwed" is coming, he just said Danke, Danke, but included him anyway. If Mr. Beatlemaniac comes, then it would be 13 people to date including Dianne's friend Ray.

Have never been to Mallory, don't know table set up, but if you want or can grab a table a bit earlier, let me know what time and I'll try to get there a bit earlier than 4:30.

Maggie, it was a blast!

yes we had 19 happy friends enjoying the wienerschnitzel even if the traditional German musician could not come! the lady that replaced him provided very good dance music and after dinner several of us went over to maybe's place and watched "Looking for Neverland" which was a very enjoyable movie about the playwright who wrote Peter Pan....a good time was had by all! thank you for this, Kathleen! and Bill!

Thank you ALL for coming and helping celebrate Octoberfest. It was great to see new people, old friends, enjoy good food, nice weather, and a wonderful view! Thanks to Bill, some also enjoyed viewing the charming Neverland movie ChaChaCha mentions above. Happy Halloween to you!
