Crazy Driver
My wife and I were heading north on Morse Blvd. near Hacienda golf course this morning. We were traveling about 30 MPH when all of a sudden a gray compact passed us on the left going over a double line and traveling in the southbound lanes. He passed another car on the left and then got into the northbound lane. He then preceded to pass cars by driving in the golf cart lane a couple of times and then when he got past the last car speeded up and was going as best as I could tell around 50 MPH. It was really crazy. I have never seen anything like that here (nor anywhere else for that matter). I didn't see any emergency lights. Will wonders never cease.

Maybe taking someone to the hospital with an emergency issue !!

Must be related to the idiot in maroon caddie that nearly clipped my front fender then slammed on it's brakes and turned right On Bueno vista. Couldn't wait 3 seconds to turn cauz there were no one behind me.

There is no cure for STUPID and we've got enough here to float a boat!

Blue Eagle, where in West Virginia did you live? I grew up in Monongah, near Fairmont, and am a WVU graduate. We'll be renting in The Villages Jan.-March 2015 on Rainbow Drive off No. 5 green of Silver Lake Country Club.

Expect the unexpected.

Bad drivers exist everywhere! The Villages is not immune.

The saying was " Buyer beware" in TV it should be "Drivers beware!" I noticed a lot more erratic drivers in the last month....hmmm ( I did not say it!)
|
Being from the Northeast and driving extensively in a couple of the New England states, it's refreshing that nearly all the drivers here in TV are courteous and polite.

Moved here fm a university town.
Trading young reckless for old codgers. I like whippersnappers better than oldsters, who typically sit there yielding a right of way they should be using because they are way too slow, dumbly polite, and do not know they are creating chaos. |

That is true. They do exist everywhere, but at the time of the year when the leaves fall, they become more evident here. We were heading east on 466a last night doing the speed limit approaching where it narrows, just past Colony, when a SUV came barreling up, passed us in the right caution lane and zoomed off. Last week I saw someone entering from the exit lane to Sumter Landing from the roundabout on Stillwater. Also last night someone stopped DEAD in the middle of the roundabout on Buena Vista and Stillwater. PLEASE be careful. There are all kinds of new folks here who don't know their way around, aren't used to driving, haven't relaxed into our unhurried lifestyle, or are relaxing a great deal with the two-fer drinks, and they are making our roads much more dangerous. I want you all here at the end of March. |

Nity...if I said it was red you'd say it was purple. You could also surmise "when the population swells". Or when a lot of people visit Florida....or when the sandhill cranes honk a lot or when the local restaurants and bars notice they are ordering more booze.. |
I don't want to blame the snowbirds. I have to say it seems like the last 2 weeks the crazies have started on the cart paths and roads.

Trust me, those roadsters are Singles Unclub Halloween Zombies.
I am sworn to secrecy and said too much already--please do not ask for more info. |
