Delta Dental Dentist

I am new to The Villages and am in need of a good dentist that takes my Delta Dental insurance. Any recs would be greatly appreciated!

jimmemac 11-10-2014 09:26 PM

Go to Serenity dentistry, don't stop, don't pass go, just call and go. Dr Luang (SP?) is the best dentist I have ever had bar none!!!! I got her name from here and have never been sorry-just very happy-she does not suggest things you don't need and her practice using all the latest technology for an excellent price!!

FloridaShrimp 11-20-2014 12:02 PM

I use Delta Dental and just received a list of dentists within the network. My dentist, Dr Hall with Village Dental is not in the network and I pay a bit more for dental work. If you want me to forward the list to you from Delta, send me a private message and an email address. Gretchen

Avista 11-20-2014 12:06 PM

Dr Lesh in on Delta Dental. He and his hygienists are great. Doesn't want to do unnecessary work. Near Publix 466.

Second shout out to Dr Luong of Serentiy Dental.....she is very skilled

delima2000 11-20-2014 03:19 PM

I agree dr luong of Serenity Dental. She is great. No up charges and office very friendly and is up on all of the technology. Makes crowns on one day. Excellent.

I have no dental insurance and looked into Delta Dental. The only 2 dentists within 10 miles of zip code 32162 are Aspen Dental and Greenberg Dental in Leesburg. Am I missing something?

Then why are there only the 2 dentists mentioned in my post when I search for dentists within 10 miles of zip code 32162?

Avista 12-16-2014 04:41 PM

Don't know why. Call Southern Trace and verify they take Delta Dental. They take mine.

delima2000 12-16-2014 05:19 PM

Try 32159 zip, code also. That is lady lake part of the villages where you will see Dr Luong listed

jrandall 12-17-2014 11:10 PM

Dr. Luoung accepts Delta Dentist. I am living proof! :)

Bosoxfan 12-18-2014 06:26 AM

My Delta Dental is NOT accepted anywhere in the Villages, except at Aspen. We had a terrible experience with Aspen, so I go to Mt Dora. It will depend on which Delta plan you have. When I went to a dentist in The Villages who takes Delta, I was told it was not the plan they take. You have to go by what Delta tells you, call them and check.

mrscrimefighter 12-18-2014 10:57 AM

I have Delta dental and I go to Serenity, Dr. Luong.
It's always paid 100 percent.

LynnDeb 12-18-2014 09:27 PM

Dr. Loung in Serenity is the best...352-350-1933

Sparty6971 12-18-2014 09:45 PM

Delta Dental is accepted by Dr Lesh

Both of us have Delta Dental and have used Dr Lesh (near Publix on 466) since July 2009. Yes, they take Delta Dental. Now be aware there are more than one part or division of Delta Dental. I had it as part of my civilian career health package. Then when I retired from them and the military, we started the Military Retiree Delta Dental - new account totally.

 Not sure if that is part of the issue or not but we haven't had any problem.

Hawkmom3 02-26-2015 12:15 PM

Serenity Dentist

FYI--in the next few months, Serenity Dentist will no longer be a Delta Dental provider.

delima2000 02-26-2015 12:53 PM

When did you find out about delta dental not being taken by dr. Loung in a few months? Who told you? I go in a couple of weeks and have been going to her for 3 years. Guess I need to call the office

delima2000 02-26-2015 03:43 PM

Not entirely true about delta at serenity dental spa. I called and talked to Joe who does insurance claims and he explained it to me. Everything as far as I'm concerned about my delta Insurance is good.

DonH57 02-26-2015 07:59 PM

I have Delta dental through military tricare and i believe they are Delta Dental of California. I need to try Spa Dentistry.

What did Joe tell you about Delta Dental? I was just there two weeks ago and they never said anything to me about changing the insurance they accept. I have Delta Dental.

delima2000 02-27-2015 06:46 AM

You need to call him. He said something about delta premier. I have delta of Michgan and he explained that if I get a crown the cost to me might be a little higher, but cleaning is still covered. So they are not really leaving delta dental. You need to call Joe and he will explain this.

downsouth95 02-27-2015 09:00 AM

We are moving to the villages in a few weeks (yeah!) and I was investigating all the dentists on this thread for my new dental insurance which is Delta. I had a choice of Delta PPO or Delta Premier. I called many of the dentists suggested on this list and some are no longer taking Delta PPO. I called Dr Luang's office, as it was mentioned many times on here and if I remember correctly Dr. Luang is not taking any new patients with Delta. Now frankly I cannot remember if it was both PPO or Premier. So the best thing to do is call and verify who is taking what. BTW both Dr Heydari and Dr. Pellosie take Delta PPO and Premier so one of those will be our dentist in future.
Thank you so much for all the dentists on this thread that I could investigate. Love TOTV!
We'll be there soon!
Pat and Bill

Will you have AARP Delta Denta? That is what we have and I have not had any problems at Southern Trace Dental --Dr Lesh near Publix 446. They pay for 3 cleanings a year.

Hawkmom3 02-27-2015 04:53 PM

When I was in the office this past week, both the dental assistant and Joe told me in the next couple of months, they will no longer be a Delta Dental provider. I have Delta Dental PPO plus Premiere.

Even though I like Dr. Loung, I think her practice has gotten out of hand. I lost a part of my tooth around a filling 3 1/2 weeks ago. It took me until this past week to get in to have it looked at. She told me I would need a crown, but I couldn't get in for the work until the end of May--ridiculous. I will be going back up north mid-May and will have the work done by my dentist up there.

If and when needed, I will be looking for another dentist down here that is able to better serve his/her patients.

I just checked AARP Delta Dental and for a couple in 32163 the premium cost is $1,500 per year. This would give us $1,500 yearly coverage each. This would only become a benefit if you exceeded $1.500 of dental costs total for the year. Otherwise it would be a losing proposition.

gigglebox1122 02-28-2015 04:42 PM

See Dr Lesh at Southern Trace Dental. Very Nice office

MSGirl 02-28-2015 11:15 PM

Has anyone used Sumter Landing Or First Choice Dental? Also Delta Dental providers. What do you think?

eddie888 04-04-2015 06:30 PM

Do NOT use Sumter Dental.
Let me repeat DO NOT USE SUMTER DENTAL.
Read everything you sign there twice.
They want all your money up front.
They owe me several hundred for work that did not need to be done.
I will let you know if they do the right thing and give me a refund.

DonH57 04-04-2015 06:48 PM

I tried to go to Serenity and was told they don't except delta dental so I ended going to Royal Dental over in Mulberry. I'm very happy I went to them. So far I've been treated great.

ukbill70 04-04-2015 08:43 PM

Serenity dental

Another vote for Serenity Dental at Spanish Springs. My wife and I are both very happy with the care and YES they do accept 'Delta Dental'

chickadee 04-06-2015 11:08 AM

I also have Delta Dental and go to Dr Lesh at Southern Trace Dental..very pleased with him and his hygienists are great..very thorough.

BogeyBoy 04-07-2015 03:29 PM

I have a Delta Dental plan and use Carolina Dentures and General Dentistry on 466. Dr Gonzalez. Nice office and staff.

I believe the dentist in Colony Plaza also accepts Delta Dental.

I had a very bad experience at Serenity dental and would never go back there. I had two crowns done and it was the worst experience that I have ever encountered with a dentist. Everyone is different but I just thought I would let you know about my experience and felt strongly enough to make this comment.

Swimmer 05-06-2015 07:07 AM

My husband and I both love Dr Lesh. We agree. He does not do any unnecessary work. We feel he is very honest and does great work.

mgjim 05-07-2015 11:20 AM

Serenity Dental

I stopped by Serenity Dental yesterday and it's true that they are not accepting new Delta Dental patients. I was disappointed since so many of you are happy with them and I would have been able to walk to my appointments. Oh well.

tekcormn 06-04-2015 08:22 AM
