Rae Raes

Anybody know anything about them being closed? Someone told me they drove by yesterday and there was a note on the door and they appeared closed.
Not a statement, just an inquiry.

Didiwinbob 11-11-2014 07:59 PM

I hope not

missypie 11-11-2014 08:42 PM

I do know that they are closed on Mondays.

Well, that could be it. :)

They advertized in the Sun the other day.

Had breakfast there Sunday - they were packed and the food was wonderful as always. They now have blueberry and pumpkin biscuits as a bread choice with breakfast - yum!!

rdhdleo 11-11-2014 10:04 PM

They just posted a soup they made on Facebook. They're open, closed on Mondays as someone said. Love that place!

NYGUY 11-11-2014 10:28 PM

In our opinion, not worth the money. The ersatz butter did not melt on the cold grits nor the blueberry biscuit. The "homefries" came came basically boiled--when asked to make them "crispier" told "Well, she is having trouble with the griddle." I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese--they came flat and no cheese in sight. I said the same to srver and was told: "It is a very light cheese that melts right away." I said " But I don't even taste it." The reply was: "Yes, I have heard that all morning." The cost for 2 for this lousy breakfast was $20.

Sorry you had one of the very rare bad experiences there. It has been nothing less than stellar every time we go which is often and they have always bent over backwards to make sure of that. Love that place as many others do.

Best breakfast in or near The Villages. We were there this morning....Fantastic!!!

CFrance 11-16-2014 10:55 PM

We go for lunch. They make better BLT's (which they call LBT's or something like that) than I could make myself. And their homemade potato salad and coleslaw are excellent.

2BNTV 11-17-2014 05:19 AM

I have become a fan of Billy's Cafe. They make a great omelette with a mountain of hash brown of potato's. Pancakes with apples, is delicious also. Come away stuffed, every time.

The first time I went to Rae Rae's, they served a great omelette but the restaurant has been somewhat disappointing, in subsequent visits. Got there after 11 AM one day and asked if I could have breakfast, The waiter said "no", very rudely. He could have said nicely, the policy is that after 11 AM, they serve lunch only.

For me it's not what you say sometimes, but how you say it. Needs a course on customer relations. I love the service at Billy's. Friendly, quick, very accommodating and had breakfast after 11 AM with no problem.

I don't mind the trip to Rae Rae's but my visitors felt, it took too long, to get there! Remember, always closed on Monday's.

BTW - It's hard to screw up, a breakfast meal!

I like their biscuits so much I've never even considered going for lunch. A yummy BLT with tasty sides sounds awfully good, though. Thanks for the recommendation.

We've been there many times for breakfast and a couple of times for lunch and have always been very pleased with food and service. Tim bends over backwards to provide a pleasant experience in my opinion.

CFrance 11-23-2014 02:55 PM

2468 US Hwy 441/27, Fruitland Park, FL . 466 to right on 441. It's on the right in a small strip mall just past Fair Oaks Dr., before you get to 466A. Next-door to Confessore Pasta Cucina.
