Mom & Dad's Restaurant
 

I noticed recently that Mom & Dad's restaurant, home of that delicious baked spaghetti and some of the best bread around, is now open on Sundays rather than both Sunday and Monday. Yay! They are located on US-441/27 just south of CR-466. We ate there last night and it was wonderful!!! :)

I'm confused. Why "Yea" for opening Sundays rathers than both Sundays and Mondays?

I think the sign out front says now open on Sundays and for lunch.

My guess OP meant to say instead of being "closed" both Sunday & Monday.
Not sure, but that's the only thing I could think of !

They used to be closed on Sunday and Monday but now just Monday. I LOVE the Gluten free lasagna and pizza there. Not many places around have gluten free pasta that tastes great!

How do they free the Gluten?

They swear at it in Italian.

Based on several personal observations, this may be the worst excuse for Italian ever! Fits right in to the normal Villager's mentality of raving about the mediocre.

We have always like Mom & Dad's. Good food and good service !!

So that means you know where the best Italian food is served?

Most definitely! Go to Café Gianni in Mt. Dora or Chef's of Napoli.

It will be in his home town or his mothers kitchen.

Mom&Dads has been open for several decades .... they must be doing something right.

Yikes. More room/parking spaces for us. It's a small place and always packed.

I remember the warning years ago, never go to a restaurant with "Mom" in its name. But I guess there must be exceptions!

I think "mom" is okay, it's the "mama" that always does me in.

Hi Mike: I understood your post 100% Italian bloodline. Me too. Heck my entire neighborhood was of Italian heritage. What a shock to my system when I discovered other nationalities. Who knew?:1rotfl:

:click:I couldn't agree more! Went there once and thought that the interior could benefit from a power washing. I had spaghetti and meatballs. I think Ragu with Armour meatballs tastes better.

You are right on! I was shocked that some people thought that this place actually represented adequate Italian cuisine. We moved here almost four yrs ago, & people at the pool recommended that place. We couldn't even believe it. We are from S. Fl. & had so many good restaurants to choose from for good Itallian cooking. We have recently come to enjoy Chefs of Napoli. Yum very good!
