Good one, punk. It sure is gouging. Reg gas in L.A. is around $4.50/gal. Can't wait to use just the golf cart!!

Re: Gasoline woes

Close by to TV, we've found two places where the gas tends to be significantly cheaper than in surrounding areas: two stations on 301 in Belleview, and one on a side road (can't remember the name) maybe a mile off 441 in Leesburg. Would seem counterproductive to travel there specifically to fill up, but if we can plan our errands in certain directions, it could certainly help. We've been up north for the past month, so we can only hope that this info is still accurate....

What's aggravating is that the price for gasoline in Europe (in Euro's - not US Dollars), has been pretty constant the last couple of years. So, it's seems like the continuous devaluation of the dollar has more to do with the price than anything else.

The value of the Euro vs the Dollar has increased about 10% in the last six months; gas has gone up about 60%

Re: Gasoline woes

It's supposedly a supply and demand problem driving up the prices. The European prices should have spiked too even considering the weakness of the dollar. makes you wonder what's really going on. And our leaders continue to do NOTHING and I'm not referring to George who is responsible for all that ails us.

Gas today is at $3.88/gal. This weekend is the start-off of the Beach Season (sorta like your Snowbird Season in TV)

VERY crowded--traffic and resturants.

Gas doesn't seem to be an issue here. I'm sure gas will go over $4.00 for their trip home!!

Re: Gasoline woes

Slight off-topic but still related, yesterday I was given a preview of home heating oil prices by the general manager at the local company: buying in advance in bulk and locking in the price was the lowest per gallon price at $4.649. A lot of people up north are, as they say, in deep excrement, and no end in sight....

TIME FOR REHAB

Re: Gasoline woes

Don't even want to think that a home fill up back in RI would be now. We used to heat with oil and it was less than 2.00 when we left. 4.66??!! x 275 gallon tank=$1,281.00. YIKES!!

punkpup 06-21-2008 10:56 AM

Re: Gasoline woes

Even though I set up a payment plan based on locking in on last years oil prices I just received a bill for an additional $850 which means I am paying $3000 a year for oil + $850 = $3850 ( I have indirect hot water so my boiler runs all year long), color me boiling mad!!!!!

What's this??!?!?!?! "The Gas Lady" has oil heat!?!?!?! Yes unfortunately the previous owner of my home was terrified of gas so she had the gas supply service pipes cut which means that the gas company cut and capped the service at the gas main and although I can get a gas boiler for free I'd still have to pay about $1500 to have the service pipeline reconnected to my house!

We had more than 30 years to do something about it. Nothing has been done. Between the Politicians and the Conservationist ( two birds of the same feather ) they have done it to America. Again the only way to do something is to trow out all those dumb asses in Washington DC. Do not vote to re-elect anyone.

Filled my tank today! OMG! When I bought this car (Sebring Convertible) it cost $26 to fill up the tank. Today, quarter of a tank left, it cost $50! :o One thing is for sure. We are very very lucky to be in a golf cart community. Thank you Harold and family!
