Rally of support at LSL
Very proud to attend this day a rally in support of the First Responders of our nation, the many police officers and firefighters who put their lives on the line each day to keep us safe.
It was held at the town square, Lake Sumter Landing, The Villages, Florida (under sunny blue skies, of course). It was attended by many retired and active duty members of the New York City Police and Fire departments, by many retired veterans of our armed forces, and by many, many supportive Villagers. Speeches by elected officials, Chiefs of various local law enforcement and fire departments and patriotic music were the order of the day. Support law and order! Teach our children respect, not hate. |

Rally For First Responders
Quote:
With the rallies of the low-life, scumbags calling to "kill cops now", there needs to be more mass rallies by the respectful, law abiding citizens throughout the country to show we care about these first responders and will not tolerate the race-baiters and criminal looters who seem to get way too much press. The majority needs to be heard loud, clear and NOW. |

Great pics. Thanks. |
My wife and I were there and appreciated the opportunity to support all those that support us. I was just thinking if we were a demonstration against something there would be more media covering it. This should have been covered by Ocala or Orlando and I did not see them but I hope they were there.
We are living in difficult times and I think these support rallies should occur all across the country. |
the villages Tea Party sent a notice to all their members so that is why i was able to post about it...was a very nice ceremony and i especially enjoyed the Blue Knights riding their bikes around the square :) and Dawn Di Nome's singing, of course!

It is to bad that some people had to bring their agenda mounted on hate signs to a rally that was meant to HONOR our protectors, You should be ashamed. God bless all of our police, military, 1st responders, volunteers and those who have fallen in duty to protect us.And God Bless America!

I did not see any opposition signs but you do have to remember they have their Constitutional rights to free speech and peaceful assembly, too. Everyone should remember their good feelings toward police officers the next time you are stopped for running a stop sign or speeding in The Villages. I remember many, many posts in the past regarding the thought of The Villages being a "cash cow" for local police nailing them for minor infractions. Next time that happens, remember this rally for police support! |

It was good to see my Hometown The Bronx represented. These Heroes deserved their day in the sun.
