Minding their manners - The Villages Daily Sun: Villages

This caught my eye today.

I wonder if the writer of the article Judy Erksa reads TOTV?

Same old, same old; however it might be a good reminder for folks that aren't on TOTV.

Are some neighborhoods/villages more dog friendly than others? Just curious...

No! TV overall for the most part is dog friendly. For the most part? Only because there are a few who dislike dogs/animals for what ever reason. And secondly there are a few knot heads around that do not clean up after their dog and of course that is what always seems to be the primary discussion.

The other 98% of us that do it right enjoy our dogs as do the neighbors.

Cedwards38 01-30-2015 12:11 PM

And just in case someone missed it in today's Daily Sun article it says:

Don't dispose of bags of dog poop in the trash cans at the mail stations.

This bus is powered by your waste for a sustainable future.

It's on a bus in England but one day we may see it on the side of a Villages trolley.

I can't help but wonder if the Daily Sun is trying to tone down the "dog friendly" designation a bit. There may be some who have decided that dog friendliness based on past publicity indicates The Villages and Villagers are a lot more than just dog friendly.

There is a delicate balance and I think The Villages and Villagers are doing a good job of maintaining that balance.

I do not do well on oblique, inuendo or even tongue in cheek....I do not speculate or guess....therefore please explain what the highlighted comment is intended to mean.

There's nothing like a good dog poop thread, you made my day! :eclipsee_gold_cup:

If cats can be trained to use the toilet, why can't dogs? They're supposed to be smarter.

My New Years resolution to refrain from dog poop comments is being put to the test

Hard as it my be it is still holding :evil6:

I have a difficult time understanding why any dog owner would need to be 'reminded' to pick up after their dog/dogs!! I think it's once again that some people feel the rules do not apply to them... Just like stop signs, blinkers and being courteous!

I love dogs but some owners do not pick up there poop and if they do they drop in the street, I saw one man at Amelia mailbox drop it in the trash box at Amelia pool. Why can't your dogs poop on your property and there would be no problem.

And orders and drink. The bartender says," We don't serve ropes here." So the rope goes outside, frays his ends, and ties himself into a knot. He comes back in and once again orders a drink. The bartender says,"Aren't you that rope I just turned down?" To which the rope replies, "No, I'm a frayed knot."

Or perhaps you would rather have them parade back and forth in front of your house??!?

I am still waiting for downeaster to clarify:

"There may be some who have decided that dog friendliness based on past publicity indicates The Villages and Villagers are a lot more than just dog friendly."

just what the highlighted comment is supposed to mean.

You're right, but let me take that a step further. People do not feel the rules apply to them if they don't get caught violating them.

Condo

When on the Board of a Condo the 3 key issues were: Poop, Pool and Pooch. They were always a problem and had to be addressed. No surprise it is the same in The Villages.
