I just learned golf carts do not have wipers.

I kinda feel sorry for the wife hanging out there with the shammy.
She is doing a very good job. :a20:

Kahuna32162 02-09-2015 03:57 PM

Really, mine does.

Cisco Kid 02-09-2015 03:59 PM

I am in a rental. :swear:

Most golf carts do not have wipers. Wait until your first experience driving in rain at night

Be careful....

CFrance 02-09-2015 04:04 PM

Which is why I prefer my car...

We bought a Tomberlin and it has wipers.

Chazz 02-09-2015 07:51 PM

I think street legal, AKA low speed vehicles (LSVs), are required to have wipers.

tomwed 02-09-2015 07:54 PM

You don't need wipers if you drive backwards. But maybe we should first talk about roundabouts and gates.

Yah, and I don't drive my cart at night if I am going to be going through any tunnels.

TNLAKEPANDA 02-09-2015 08:26 PM

all carts have windows that fold down... problem solved.

That's brilliant. So what if you get wet, you'll be home soon. So much better than driving backwards.
What do you know about roundabouts and gates?

Penguin 02-10-2015 12:11 AM

Buy a squeegee

That's why they are called wipers and not wipehims.

Wipers will scratch Windshield...

I was looking to install after-market wipers, until I learned that wipers will "scratch" your plastic windshield and make it more difficult to see at night when not raining. I still may install a hand-operated wiper, to occasional wipe the rain off the windshield. For now I'm just using a RainX type product (from aircraft supplier) to cause the rain to bead-up and run-off.

Polar Bear 02-10-2015 09:29 AM

I know it's a bit of a pain but, with such near-vertical windshields, I've never felt like it was that big of a deal as long as I'm careful and don't speed.

tomwed 02-10-2015 09:47 AM

I'm thinking the other feller, who lowers the windshield has one of these.

me too. I understand now that if you buy a new golf cart, you can order a special solid windshield which can handle wipers, but I do love the solid glass windshield on my Tomberlin. And the nice steel roll bars, too! but I don't golf, and I use it as transportation. I think the split windshields on golf carts are for air circulation.
