Congratulations. This is not a joke!

I understand the need for sponsors but that flashing smile face gives me a headache. No joke!

I'm with you....caught 2 on one page today, red framed and blue framed....very hard on the eyes! I don't even know what they are advertising because once I see the flashing border I scroll far enough to get it off of the page so I can read the post.

DougB 02-11-2015 10:37 PM

Are you seeing flashing smile faces everywhere you go or just on TOTV? I haven't seen one here.

I've never seen it.
Google Chrome OS.

coffeebean 02-11-2015 10:51 PM

Yes. That is exactly what I do. I can't get it away from my eyes fast enough.

Google Chrome OS.

Does it matter which browser one uses? I'm on Firefox.

blueeagle65 02-11-2015 11:05 PM

Hmmm.... I don't recall having seen it either....

DonH57 02-11-2015 11:53 PM

I've never seen it.

Bonanza 02-12-2015 12:17 AM

Yes, it's horrible -- absolutely horrible!

It's screaming at me on this thread as I type -- right now.

KittyKat 02-12-2015 01:29 AM

I've never seen it. Using Google Chrome.

jojo 02-12-2015 07:36 AM

It is distracting. Can't scroll down fast enoughl

philnpat 02-12-2015 07:49 AM

I was thinking it was just me...
Amazing we're ALL the winner.

tomwed 02-12-2015 08:14 AM

Oh, the humanity! And all the posters screaming around here. I told you; it—I can't even type to people, their friends are seeing it too! Ah! It's... it... it's a... ah! I... I can't type, ladies and gentlemen. Honest: it's just flashing there, mass of blinking add eye candy. Ah! And everybody can hardly breathe and type and the screaming. I... I... I'm sorry. I just can't type anymore.

Exactly.

Taltarzac725 02-12-2015 08:39 AM

Have not seen it using Google Chrome.

blyarbrough 02-12-2015 09:17 AM

I got the same hit yesterday and wrote the manager of the web-site (TOTV) and they said they had never heard of this scam and no one else had written them.....I hope someone else lets the site manager know about this stuff....

Thanks

John_W 02-12-2015 10:37 AM

I've never seen it, in fact I don't see any ads on TOTV, I'm using Firefox.

Walter123 02-12-2015 11:24 AM

It's affecting my brain and making me do crazy things just like that car commercial with that puppet guy dancing around and the screen flashing with some weird voice saying "Awesome Style" I will never buy a car from that place.

Did anyone actually click on it?

Your browser has nothing to do with it. As I understand it Ads pop up from two sources one is paid for to be always standing on the TOTV site. The others are pulled in related to your search history and what sites you have visited. For instance I have been researching different beds ads for beds are now showing up. Go into tools on your browser and delete your browsing history and cookies then go four times to a site you wouldn't mind seeing ads from and that site will probably if it is paying for the service replace the one you hate. It is what I did to get rid to the bed ads.

Update ok I just saw the awful flashing thing and my browsing history and cookies are deleted. The admin needs to get rid of this ad it looks like one of those sites that trys to steal your info.

NYGUY 02-12-2015 12:04 PM

I just saw it again on another thread and I have Google Chrome. Not sure what causes it, but it is very annoying..:swear:

CFrance 02-12-2015 12:33 PM

It's not showing up on Safari. Just the normal TOTV ads.

Mleeja 02-12-2015 12:33 PM

I have not seen it. I am usually coming into the site with my iPad. Could this be a PC thing?

BobnBev 02-12-2015 12:42 PM

These are the most self-defeating ads I've ever seen.

Walt. 02-12-2015 01:15 PM

I didn't know what you were talking about until I just got to the third page of this thread. There it is (and I have Google chrome). You mean I'm not actually the 100,000th visitor? Not that it actually ways you won anything... Yes, it is annoying.

NYGUY 02-12-2015 01:24 PM

Can Admin chime in on this and let us know if their is anyway they can block it??

bargee 02-12-2015 01:37 PM

Awww I thought it was only me.I was out looking at premier homes.Shucks

Mleeja 02-12-2015 06:07 PM

Have any of the PC users tried turning on your pop-up blocker?

tomwed 02-12-2015 06:21 PM

It's associated to your browsing habits.
What's important is that you use your computer as a guest not an administrator.

This is confusing.

A guest account cannot install software.
An administrator account can install software.

If you are logged on as a guest and you click on the wrong thing the "bad guys" will try to install malware on your computer but they can't without an administrator's permission and password.

If you are logged on as an administrator or your own name or nickname that has administrator's rights and you click on the wrong thing the "bad guys" will download their software successfully because as the administrator you gave them your permission to install software and possibly take over your machine.

This is mostly a windows problem. Windows controls 90 per cent of the market. Bad guys don't bother with apple.

rdhdleo 02-12-2015 08:34 PM

I use Safari and do not see it now but have seen it in the past, extremely annoying! Glad someone brought it up. I think I'm going to install ad blocker again. I spoke too soon, that VERY annoying flashing smile ad is still here! Sure hope someone gets rid of it soon!

cquick 02-12-2015 10:01 PM

TOTV Team 02-12-2015 10:43 PM

It is not a TOTV sponsor but would be delivered from Google. If you email us a screen shot we can further assist.
