Golf Instructors at Sarasota
We are planning on taking lessons at Sarasota and are looking for any recommendations for instructors there.
Thank you! |
I've taken lessons here and with Steve at Oxford Golf on 301. Highly recommend Steve. Other neighbors feel the same.
Thank you Keith!

Better instructor or lower cost?
I like Craig Griffin.
Oxford Golf center on rt 301 has hired another golf instructor, Ryan. great lessons without the rush, completely focused on the student. Sandra is the "best" and she has trained Ryan.

I enjoyed Joey Hydock at Sarasota. My lessons were a couple years ago so I assume he is still there. He was listed in Golf Digest as one of the 50 best instructors in Florida.
Craig Griffin !!!!
Joey HiDock is the best I have ever seen. You should give him a try.
The ladies seem to like Craig at Sarasota. I'm a guy and was not too impressed with him. Not bad but likes to talk about his time "on the bag" with with the pros. Won't go back.
Craig Griffen is a teaching wizard. Working with Craig I took my index from 25.8 to 14.4 in about 8 months.

Joey Hidock is very good. Knows his business, and knows how to get instruction across in terms you can understand. Money well spent. Great guy as well!

My husband and I have taken lessons with Sandra Chester at Golf Your Best in Oxford on 301. She is a very patient and caring instructor. She devotes her time with you and only you during your scheduled time and I plan to continue to schedule with her and her instructors in the future.
Sandy is the BEST!!!! She actually made me 'like' Golf!

Very patient and good communication. |
I just finished a week of "Newcomer School" with Sandra, Kim & Ryan at Golf Your Best on 301 and if you "Want The Best, Forget the Rest" of the other recommendations. On day #1, I had never hit a golf ball and when I left on day #5 after a total of 10 hours of training, I had a total understanding of the logistics, mechanics, and practical theory of "what, where, how, and why". Doesn't mean a hole in one is in my very near future. What it does mean is that I know what club to use, when to use it, how to position myself and what steps to take to correct myself. Don't waste your money anywhere else!

How do you know the others don't do just as well?
I DON'T know that the others don't do just as well. I am just offering my personal evaluation and recommendation based on first hand experience. Isn't that what "Talk of The Villages" is all about? To express your experiences, favorable and unfavorable and make suggestions and recommendations? The Villages - Friendliest Hometown.

Sandra and Ryan are wonderful at Golf Your Best on 301 in Oxford. I have had lessons with Joey at Sarasota. Sandra and Ryan were able to help me so much. With Joey I saw no improvement. You will not be disappointed with Sandra or Brian, they really care and know what they are dooing

Tom Talbot was terrific for me and my husband. We wouldn't take lessons from anybody else after having them with him.
Craig Griffin at Sarasota is simply excellent, as both an instructor and all-around good guy. He is patient and knows exactly how to communicate and correct my swing flaws.
I've taken several lessons from Craig Griffith, recommended him to several neighbors, and had him give my 11 year old grandson lessons. Craig is very good and extremely patient. What I really like is that he doesn't feel the need to tear a swing down and start over. He takes what you already have and improves it. His simple approach to chipping was really easy to adopt and has helped me a great deal.
