How many peeps are going to join Handi's convoy??

Are there any golf carts going with one person? Does any one need a cart to ride in??

I think Handi would be the one to map our path out..I guess it also depends on if they are going to have the fireworks...

I'm borrowing a cart and will have wiw with me. I know coleenj will be down for the 4th but I have no idea if she plans to join us. If she does, she will need a cart or a ride.

Ron and Pete will be in the convoy. No puter access for them until next week.

Anyone know what the plan is re food, drinks? Handie had originally said something about bringing drinks, snacks (at least I'm assuming snacks). Snacks for the group or just for individual carts? Drinks are gonna be a problem since we're meeting earlier for Rocky. Which brings up the next question -- what time are we meeting and where?

Can we confirm fireworks? I hear that many were cancelled and I searched...to no avail. Those going to SS will head to LSL around 8-8:30? Curious.

http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...on/8_14_71.gif Leesburg is having a fireworks display at Venetian Gardens. That's the only one I can find so far that is relatively close. Tavaras and Mt. Dora are also having displays but not sure if they can be seen from here.

Fireworks in Leesburg begin at 9pm. Other towns that have fireworks are also beginning at 9. If we don't leave Sweetbay until 9, will we make it to Truman in time to get settled and watch whatever there is to watch?

Well, Red, I'm bringing those Bloody Mary tomatoes (they've been soaking almost 24 hours now :yikes:) and marinated mozzarella cubes.

Sounds like we need to leave Sweet Bay by at least 8:30 so we're settled for the fireworks. Handie???

I'm bringing a couple of camp tables to put stuff on. I'll be making some ham roll-ups (they will be refrigerated while we're playing at Spanish Springs). BJ said she'll get some brownies.

So, who else is bringing food?

We had a great time, so many peeps showed up...I have pics but have no way of posting them till I get back to Pa.

I know Handi took pics, I am sure he will post them...

I had a wonderful time tonight. We met at the Truman Rec Center, watched fireworks, talked with old friends and met new ones, lit sparklers, drank a little (well, some of us did but not all...alcohol that is) and enjoyed appetizers. Hopefully this is the first year of a tradition.

I'm looking forward to seeing pics too...but there better not be any bad ones posted of me....lol.... ;D

Thanks to everyone. It was so nice to meet people. Especially thanks to Donna who introduced me to so many new friends and she is just as sweet in person as she is on the computer.
I have a special connection to Dicky's brother and that was the icing on the cake. So once again "thanks to all" and have a happy 5th of July! :bigthumbsup:

Sounds like you had another GREAT time!! Count us in for next year! Can't wait to see pictures. (We'll be right around the corner from Truman Center, should be able to find it ;) ).
