Attire for the sharon

I will be going to the sharon on monday for the million dollar quartet, i would like to know if anybody that has gone has seen men in shorts, or do i need to come in long pants. I will be there a few hours early having dinner, and would like to where shorts in this weather. I have not seen any info on this subject, and do not want to create problems.:icon_wink::icon_wink:

Good post. I also will be there and don't know what to wear.

On TheSharon.com website it states attire is Business Casual for most events. For a few special events formal wear is recommended but that would be noted on the event info. Our first attendance will be next week and hubby is planning on his Big Boy pants and a nice shirt. Maybe some other folks that have already been to an event there will post here soon. Enjoy your show.

When we went people were in everything from shorts to suits to blue jeans and everything in between.

:bigbow: I totally agree.

CFrance 05-14-2015 03:46 PM

Same way you would dress for The Joe. :icon_wink: Sorry!

The Morse family requires men to wear collared shirts, but allows Blue Jeans on the Championship Golf courses. This is definitely not the norm with Private/Semi-private Golf Clubs but they do it here. A decent pair of jeans and a nice shirt should be appropriate for The Million Dollar Quartet and Blues Brother Review type shows. Shorts if you must. Different acts may prompt a different dress attitude, but let us remember we are a primarily casual retirement commumnity, so let us not harm the success of this beautiful venue by a dress code controversy.

why would you want to wear casual...its like formal night on a cruise, if you don't like to show a little class then go to the buffet!

Richard1366 05-14-2015 07:11 PM

It ain't Carnegie Hall...wear what you want!!!

DougB 05-14-2015 07:16 PM

Banana hammocks are not allowed.

justjim 05-14-2015 07:32 PM

I'm still not comfortable wearing shorts to church, however, several men do every Sunday and that's okay with me. We haven't been to The Sharon yet but I suspect that the dress will be similar to what I see on Sunday and that's okay with me.

kaydee 05-14-2015 09:32 PM

Where what's comfortable, clean and respectable unless it states specifically formal. Enjoy the performance.

Here are a few examples of what was acceptable to wear to Million Dollar Quartet:

It sure would be nice to have one venue where the guys dressed up a bit. Not ties and sports coats, but long pants and a nice collared shirt would be a treat.

Chi-Town 05-15-2015 07:11 AM

That's what I and probably most other guys will be wearing. Wives influence our wardrobe, but common sense should also when business casual is mentioned.

Agree.

Wear what you wear to church..............I'm always surprised what I see at church, but I guess God doesn't care.

zonerboy 05-15-2015 09:00 AM

There are shorts and shirts you can wear to church, and there are shorts and shirts you wear to mow the lawn. Most people know the difference.
Hey, when you wake up in the morning and it's already 80 degrees plus and it stays that way until after 8pm, well I'm wearing shorts.

Tobys Dad 05-15-2015 09:52 AM

Well said and I agree!!

Heritage 05-15-2015 09:56 AM

What would you wear if you went to Dr. Phillips in Orlando?
It's nice to dress up occasionally.

tomwed 05-15-2015 10:56 AM

long pants, dress shirt, shoes [not sneakers]

By the way, do they a have a hat check [or coat check I guess it's called] in the winter for your coat?

Wrong. If you wore cammo t-shirt, cammo cargo pants, and cammo boots to the Sharon, you might be a redneck...
