Weight Loss Program at Davis Clinic
Saw an ad in Sound Clips about a weight loss program (Chiro Thin) at the Davis Chiropractic Clinic. Anyone have any experience or knowledge of the success and cost of this program? Thank you.

There are two ways to lose weight; burn more calories through exercise or take in less calories in what you eat. |

The world is full of those seeking "Pixie Dust" to cure all sorts of ills....obesity, hair loss, prostate issues, turkey neck, hard water, and yes, inability to break 100 at golf. Billions of dollars wasted each year.

And each year that we live usually adds more observations of this kind. I very much enjoy and learn from all kinds of people, but the wisest are frequently the............ones living south of 466A. Just kidding. YOU ALL KNOW HOW I FEEL about trying to be with an isolated age group. Don't MESS with old people. |

Google "Chirothin" and you'll find out what it is without "guessing". A casual reading will indicate it's some type of nutritional supplement combined with some dietary changes. There are no pre packaged foods.

I wouldn't go to the Davis Clinic for anything. His specialty is taking people's money. He charges for therapy's (like ice bags) that do very little. Just my opinion, he tried to sell
me a twelve week program that was over a thousand dollars. I went to some one else but not before I was stuck for $300. |

Be careful going there..... If you check other posts on this clinic, you will find that he does NOT have a good reputation! My guess, anything that puts MORE money in his pocket, is his MO!!!

I did a weight loss program with Davis last year. They suggested a loan program that immediately gave them $ 3,000. up front. Shame on me. Spent thousands of dollars before I participated. Very restrictive diet and $30. for 6-8 portion box of food. Appointments dropped or changed for weigh-ins, no records kept. Raised my liver count and needed a scan. Nearly got arrested for complaining loudly in the waiting room. Could go on and on. I lost the weight because of self determination and self control. Do Weight Watchers and you can dine out, have a support group and save a bundle.

I am trying to lose weight as we blog. Walking fast every day and watching carbs and sugars. Hopefully I will see some progress in the next few weeks... please don't spend money on gimmicks. Just keep telling yourself you can do it!

C'mon folks, even if you don't exercise, EAT LESS. You need the will power to change your eating habits and the courage to abide by the changes. Talk to a nutritionist, not your primary, he is not that well trained. Educate yourself, you can loose weight.

IMHO losing weight is very similar to quit smoking. Most important is self-discipline. 90% is mental. Following a healthy diet and exercise will do it for most people. Occasionally there is a health issue. This is why it's important to talk to your doctor BEFORE starting any program.

I always find it strange that anytime I see a commercial promoting a weight loss prgram, they always show food and all kinds of wonderful meals you're allowed to have. A quit smoking program wouldn't show pictures of cigarettes, would they? I think that's strictly a sell job and they really don't have your best interests at heart.
I heard Dr. Oz say something yesterday that is easy to relate. He said your waist size should be half your height. For example, I'm 69" tall and my waist then should be 34-1/2" or less. My waist currently is 32", I weigh 155 and I'll be 65 years old in July. The way I maintain my weight, I don't really think about it. I play golf once a week, I ride 18 holes at one of the championships. I play shortstop on a softball team every Saturday. I go to MVP five days a week, I work out with weights for about 30 minutes and ride a stationary bike 15 to 20 miles, which is usually 45 to 60 minutes. So I'm in and out in an hour and half. I eat moderately, but really I fill up very easily. I never eat appetizers or have desserts. If I would have either, I wouldn't be able to eat my meal. What really got me going, was when I was about 59 I started realizing I have less years to live than the amount of years I've lived. And god only gives us one body, so I better start taking care of the one I have. So now I try and do at least one athletic endeavor everyday. |

I've never gone to Weight Watchers, but I know lots of women who have gone, and a few men too. Most have been successful, not only in losing weight, but also in keeping it off! |
