Best cell service in TV is ?
We will be moving down full time this fall and we were wondering if any one cell service is better in TV than the others. We currently have Verizon. Any help/info appreciated. Thanks
Service is very different and depends greatly on the provider and one's location.
I suggest that you use the board's search function for cell phone and/or cell service because the topic has been discussed a great number of times. There is much info to be had from doing such a search. |
Verizon us the best.
AT&T us the best.
If you're looking for cheap don't go to Verizon. But if you want the best go with Verizon!! Simple as that . Best coverage in THE VILLAGES!!!
Verizon works well for me.
Simple. Verizon
When we moved here had AT@T-very unreliable-had to go to Verizon, almost 4 years no problems
I've been very satisfied with AT&T.
If you already have Verizon service just keep it And see how it works for you. You could always change later.
Do a search, there are spotty problems south of 466A for both Verizon and AT&T users. We moved here in March near Brownwood with Verizon service. I believe cell towers will be added in a few months but we have no cell service in or around the house.
Cell service below 466A is at best spotty.
Watch for Google's "Project Fi" which is in the works now. How good it will be is TBD, but knowing Google, it will be working well in the near future.

Cricket!
We switched from Verizon to Cricket and saved $70 a month!
AT&T bought Cricket and we are very happy with the service. Our smart phones no longer worked so Cricket started us out with other phones for free. |
I see where Sprint has a pretty good family plan deal. Anybody have any experience with them in TV?

SmartTalk using Verizon from Walmart is a pretty good deal. You just have to supply your own phone. I've found Sprint to be completely worthless here.
I use Virgin Mobile. One of the best values around. Been using them for about 7 years. I think they partner with Sprint. I'm north of 466 and service is always good.
Your best bet is to check with the NSA. They will know for sure. :22yikes

The state of telecommunication is mad mad mad i tell you. People are paying so muc for what once served our basic needs.
I went to a smartphone because the providers were forcing you to them. I only need a phone and i only need it outside for an emergency. Same with TV so many useless channels so much more for movies and they still upcharge buy renting the latest releases when my contract is up with Verizon i going back to simply a phone |

Depends
It depends on where you will be living. If you are south of 446a/44 then you may have problems with Verizon as it appears they don't have enough towers to support the users beyond that point. Some will get additional coverage thru a tower being installed on Turtle Mound but that should only include about a 1 mile radius. There are plans to do some additional work in 2016 but the service may poor/lacking between now and 2016 and then there is no indications as to how far that coverage will go. :mornincoffee:

Verizon works well for us.

In some areas where the AT&T coverage is spotty, they will provide you with a Micro-cell box. This box creates a cellular zone in your home and routes the calls through the internet via your broadband router. You simply plug into a cat5 port on your router and you will have 5 bars. I have one and it works well. I believe this is a stopgap since most phones will eventually have the capability to use Wi-FI directly. I believe iphone6s can do this now with T-Mobile.
