ISIS continues it's march toward WMD capability
Maybe something from an non USA news source will get the attention of some of the negative responders:
Isis's dirty bomb: Jihadists have seized 'enough radioactive material to build their first WMD' - Middle East - World - The Independent Unlike the USA they in fact do have a strategy and are not timid about it's aggressive pusuit of their intention. They have a complimentary strategy working for the as well....USA do nothing approach to ISIS. |
I believe they absolutely have a strategy unlike the U.S. to convert us all or kill us which they are succeeding in. Very sad to see adults who still don't get it and kids to wrapped up in ipads., cell phones, etc to even give a dam. Perhaps after the next attack, but then its too late if you've lost your child. There's no going back. So for those who still have their heads buried, God help you. They Are coming
|
The Left-wingers on this board will call people names (warmonger), ask if you want your kids to go to war and make other equally inane comments.
Their strategy is quite clear ... wait until when a nuke finally goes off in the US, and then chose between two options: 1. All out war (this time to win, not to lose) similar to WWII, or 2. Get a prayer rug and convert to Islam (which I honestly believe some on this board would choose if that's what it came down to) |
Ladies and gentlemen. Boots on the ground won't win this one. Do you think a nuclear weapon is necessary to disrupt life in America? This is the 21st century. Access to the internet can screw up everything that matters. ISIS is fighting a new war. Ask any military person who has been to and fought in the Middle East what is going on. This isn't you fathers version of warfare.

Is the beheading and slaughtering of women and children a sign of the sophistication you are crediting the meidevil killers with? Cut the BS on the continual reference to a "past" warfare....the inference that ISIS is a 21st century technical power is just plain nonsense. Keep them in the class they are...rag tag radical Muslims out to kill or maim anybody that does not match up to their evil roots. New war my :censored: |
My stance remains the same as to boots on the ground. Reinstate the draft so that we all share in the sacrifice and then we will talk.
I did find a segment on one of the weekly Sunday news shows run a clip about the Iraq military militia saying they will kill any American soldier they find on Iraqi soil. |

The one thing I would add ... ISIS is not the only threat of nuclear jihad as Iran is clearly in that threat category as well. |

Mocking anyones fear is a bit weird don't you think ? It is the basis for real fear and different degrees for others and you mock it, as if it were impossible. Based on your posts, you have no idea of what you are speaking of. I really have trouble understanding an adult making fun of a real threat to the country and mocking posters who agree with that ? Late last year, the British HomE Secretary was quoted as saying that all ISIS needs to do is consolidate the land and....well here is the quote... "British Home Secretary Theresa May warned that if ISIS consolidates its control over the land it occupies, “We will see the world’s first truly terrorist state” with “the space to plot attacks against us.” "Its seizure of banks and oil fields gave it more than $2 billion in assets. If ISIS could make the right connection to corrupt officials in Russia or Pakistan, the group might be able to buy enough highly enriched uranium (about 50 pounds) and the technical help to build a crude nuclear device. Militants recruited from Europe or America could help smuggle it into their home nations. Or ISIS could try to build a “dirty bomb,” conventional explosives like dynamite laced with highly radioactive materials. The blast would not kill many directly, but it would force the evacuation of tens of square blocks contaminated with radioactive particles." http://www.nydailynews.com/news/worl...icle-1.1958855 We have seen that consolidation begin in Iraq, Syria and even in Africa, so your mockery of the other posters is sort of up for its own mocking. |

IF that is true, do you really believe that all the other countries in the ME will just sit on their hands and not start their own programs ? Of course they will and the nuclear race then begins. This, the ONLY terrorist state in the ME...the sponsors OPENLY of terrorism |

A dirty bomb is much more likely from ISIS than a nuclear strike. |

Having served for many years, I have many things that stick in my craw but they are history...this is a threat NOW and PRESENT. Not being insensitive but often we are told to move on and here it applies since not doing that...moving on...solves absolutely nothing. |
Sure, it is possible that a dirty bomb could be exploded in the US. It could be transported here on a container ship to any port city with little chance of detection - or could it?
There are so many safeguards in place now that the public does not know of that chances are greatly diminished. There have been tries but no known successful attempts to smuggle a dirty bomb here. Remember, we have to catch all but they just have to get through once. Do not put down our guards of the ports. These guys are good! |
After reading General McChrystal's book "Team of Teams" you will realize that terrorists in the Middle East use such technology as trucks, explosives, garage door openers and cell phones to terrorize. No WMD needed. Remember 9/11? Cell phones, and box cutters and the knowledge to fly a commercial airliner brought the fight to America. Any coordinated attack with modern communication and the will to die could disrupt any system...Political,Internet,the power grid, you name it. The politicians who run this country, regardless of party affiliation need to cooperate to enhance the Nation's security.

These reports surface almost daily from around the world. Now, in trying to keep this all in perspective, I have searched for denials from anyone, and failed to find one.except the last link.
"The montrous fiends with the Islamic State hope to add another horrific weapon to their arsenal of terror — a “dirty” bomb. The bloodthirsty jihadist group looted radioactive chemicals from government labs as they rampaged across Iraq and Syria and hope to assemble explosive devices with them, a British newspaper reported, citing Australian intelligence officials and ISIS propaganda. The militants bragged in Dabiq, their perverted publicity magazine, that they could soon have the capability to build or purchase nuclear weapons. A more immediate threat could be “dirty” bombs — devices that use conventional explosives to spread radioactive or other hazardous materials." http://www.nydailynews.com/news/poli...icle-1.2253492 "LONDON: The ISIS militant group has seized enough radioactive material from government facilities to suggest it has the capacity to build a large and devastating "dirty" bomb, according to Australian intelligence reports. ISIS declared its ambition to develop weapons of mass destruction in the most recent edition of its propaganda magazine Dabiq, and Indian defence officials have previously warned of the possibility the militants could acquire a nuclear weapon from Pakistan." ISIS's dirty bomb: Jihadists have seized 'enough radioactive material to build their first WMD' - The Times of India ""There is theoretically the potential for a dirty bomb,” Daryl Kimball, of the Arms Control Association in Washington, told FoxNews.com, explaining that such bombs are more effective at scaring people than killing them. "It explodes and the terrorist is banking on the fear factor of radiation. That’s what we are looking at here at worst.” Iraq's Foreign Ministry said the compounds were used at Mosul University labs in "very limited quantities" for research, and that they were slated for destruction before ISIS took over the city. Former International Atomic Energy Agency chief inspector Olli Heinonen said that if the material came from a university it most likely is laboratory chemicals consisting of natural or depleted uranium. "You cannot make a nuclear explosive from this amount, but all uranium compounds are poisonous," Heinonen told Reuters. "This material is also not 'good' enough for a dirty bomb." ISIS seizes uranium from lab; experts downplay 'dirty bomb' threat | Fox News But certainly, due diligence is needed, as this is also from that last quote. " "However, any uranium in the hands of a terrorist group is concerning, since it shows interest in nuclear material and their interest is unlikely to be for peaceful purposes," Albright, a former IAEA weapons inspector" "The material, believed to be low-grade, unenriched uranium mixed with other elements, was taken from a science lab at Mosul University by ISIS, the terrorist group that took over Iraq's second-largest city last month and has vowed to attack Baghdad. Iraq notified the UN in a July 8 letter which sought international help to "stave off the threat of their use by terrorists in Iraq or abroad," according to Reuters, which saw the letter. "Although the material is not believed to be weaponized, and ISIS does not have known missile delivery capability, the theft stoked fear that a dirty bomb - a primitive explosive used to disseminate radioactive material - could be fashioned from the uranium compounds." |
Sounds very likely to have happened. Now, what propositions are possibilities for containing the problem? I would not have any ideas. Above my pay grade as they say.
If you do not know precisely where this material is stored, any military strike would not do good. |
Not to worrying, if they drop a WMD in the U.S. Or even a U.S. Territory, We will have justification to wipe the entire Middle East off the earth. Problem solved. Unfortunately, these cowards will not force the full weight of our power against them.

Terrorists as in 9/11 scored a major blow and increased National Paranoia without the use of WMD. How much terror has been generated globally by the use of a sharp knife and beheading? The nuclear option fantasy wouldn't solve the problem. Other countries have Muslim populations. England for example. Nukes would just provide more recruits for the Jihad. |

We CAN immolate (carpet bomb with B-52s etc) major cites like Raqqa and such. Sorry, the mosques and some civilians go up in smoke with it but to win the war you have to terrorize the enemy into giving up. Also, we can DEPORT the Muslims in UK and elsewhere. I suggest we give them free one way tickets to any Muslim country of their choice, and encourage them to choose Syria. We will eventually do this, but only after we have enough dead Americans on US soil to shake the haze from everyone's eyes and we feel the fear of what happens if we don't win. This is pretty simple actually ... look at the history of wars for example in the Roman Republic and later Empire. Lesson is ... you either fight to win, or you ... lose. |
Quote:
Deporting all Muslims to Syria just is not feasible and could never work - just like rounding up 11 million Hispanic immigrants in the US and deporting them would never be logistically possible. I do not have an answer, but I do know yours Is NOT the answer. |

Stop letting them into the USA. Secondly, for those here illegally, give them a time limit by which date they will be registered and on some path to citizenship or they have to get out. Sound harsh? Not one bit compared to what will have to be done when the USA becomes more populated by illegals than citizens......on our way to second or even third world status. Our current do nothing with open borders is the preamble to future demise and increasing numbers of poor looking for a handout. |

Carpet bomb Raqqa (ie ISIS capital in Syria) NOT all major Arab cities Deport Muslims in UK and elsewhere. Don't need to get rid of 100% but enough to show them we're serious. You have to repress the radicals, so the first ones shown the door are the radical Imams and go on television giving us all the finger. Once we get rid of 20-30% of them, that will likely do the trick. As I said, there are many parallels in history that show us what works when defeating a hostile population. You have to destroy their will to fight. We are doing the exact opposite at present and making it worse. |

However, once again, you have accidentally veered into the truth but didn't even realize when it hit you square in the face. If such a "shoot if needed" policy was announced, and a physical wall was built, no one would cross the borders illegally. Think about it ... |
If we build the wall and shoot to kill perhaps that could put an end to the free flow of illegal drugs into this country which has killed more Americans than any WMD. Estimate 10,000-20,000 per year. No WMD needed.

Excellent point ... I am really mystified why liberals / Leftist fail to see the elementary logic of this approach. I can only conclude it's because ... they really don't want to solve the problem. Or, in other words, they welcome Open Borders because it hastens the end of the "...evil, racist, white culture America" yadda yadda that they genuinely hate ... The humorous and sad point to me is ... the Left seems to think South American / Mexican / Spanish culture and norms will somehow be superior to what we were lucky enough to inherit with the British culture and common law which forms the basis of traditional America. More evidence still that liberalism is a genuine mental disorder. |
For decades the agricultural business welcomed the cheap labor of "illegals", just to identify one industry that thrives on cheap undocumented labor. We are all paying for the fact that for decades government did little to stop this. Now we are paying the price.
Actually Asians have surpassed Hispanics in immigration numbers. Regardless of who has been President nothing rational has been done to stem the flow because cheap labor trumps Patriotism. Why did China go from a third world country in the fifties to a global power? Because we can make stuff for sale at WalMart cheaper in China than the U.S. and China got rich. The decision to move manufacturing to China was made by corporate decision makers of both political philosophies. |

"It seems as though many companies that unlawfully employ illegal immigrants are being let off the hook by the Obama administration, as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has conducted just a fraction of workplace audits compared to previous years." "In the first five months of fiscal year 2015, ICE only conducted 181 workplace audits and brought charges against just 27 employers, according to Jessica Vaughan, policy director for the Center for Immigration Studies. Whereas in 2013, ICE audited 3,127 companies and arrested 179 employers for employing illegal immigrants, Vaughan said, adding that the "number of employer fines collected by ICE also has dropped by more than half." "The administration's near discontinuation of worksite enforcement means that employers now face very little risk in hiring illegal workers and have little incentive to abide by the law," Vaughan wrote."
