Costco
Does anyone know when and exactly where the new Costco will be built?
|
Go to the costco sight and ask....they'll likely let you know...
|
Costco
Though I wish there was one coming here, I have not heard that. Also COSTCO WEB site for future locations make no mention of it.

I will believe there's a Costco coming when I see the sign on the property.

Good one Walt!
|
How about a Trader Joe's? =)
|
Nix on TJ's too.
We will know when something appears in the DS. Until then, it's all speculation. Right now, I am eagerly awaiting the opening of Home Goods, on Wedgewood Lane. |

I buy in volume to save money and time. For example, I'd rather buy windex by the gallon and not think about it for a long time.
Here's a new idea: What if Sam's Club discovered the top 20% of their product line that sold the most in The Villages and put in a considerably smaller warehouse on the south end of town? Or just sell the cooked chickens, produce, dairy, meat and fish down here. If someone needs something special every now and then, it's worth the trip to the north end. BTW, I heard you guys get snow in the winter. Is that true? |

That's my point. A Sam's club south [think small building] that only sells perishables [and cooked chickens--they're the best] would be the best of both worlds if you live on the south end of town. I shop off hours and skip the lines.
|
Costco's meats are infinitely better than Sam's. Also, it's foolish to think that there are only small households around here. In TV, certainly, but not necessarily in the surrounding areas. Finally, all the clubs, Church groups, schools and other organizations in and around TV would finally have a better alternative to Sam's, if a Costco was built here.
|
If they ever build one it will be at 468 and the turnpike. There are several big box stores planned down there

I heard from highly reliable sources that Costco has said they will move into the same plaza as Macy's and Trader Joe's right after The Polo Grounds are torn down..:a040:..:MOJE_whot:..:clap2:..:1rotfl:

So true

Just like Sam's Club enjoys the residents of TV their market appeal is to a much larger geographic and demographic clientele tha just TV.....ditto would be for Costco.
I personally do not see that much of a difference between Costc or Sam's. It amounts to personal preference. |
No new Florida location is listed on their website,

Maybe now that Forbes Magazine has named the villages as the number one place for businesses and careers in areas with less than 250,000 population, some of these places we keep asking for will take a second look.
|
I have to admit I am shocked how many people are standing in line waiting for Sam's Club to open early in the morning.
|
Representatives for Costco have said many times that The Villages and surrounding areas are considered "seasonal" and they, traditionally, do not build in seasonal areas. We were living in Carson City, NV when the Costco there opened, although there was a Costco in Reno, which was only about 25 miles away. The line was over a mile long to get in the door. It was quite the event, and I would assume the same would happen should Costco decide, in the future, to locate here. We'll see.

Having lived in NV, and knowing Carson City, I would say TV is long over due for a Costco. Carson City is also seasonal - except the snowbirds are in the legislature. |
