How can I tell how many mph I'm going?

My golf cart is soooo slow and I would like to get it fixed so that it at least can go the maximum that the rules allow. Does anyone know if smart phones can determine the mph?? Or even the GPS that I have in my car (which needs to be "plugged in.") Thanks.:gc:

GPS Essentials is a great APP for smart phones. It will definitely give you your MPH.

I use my GPS from my car. It will run about an hour not plugged in. It will give you your maximum speed.

I use an app called Android Speedometer...free.

Frank7 08-23-2015 02:18 PM

We use SPEED PRO worth the .99

download Speed Box--- free (don't know of any adverse issues. )

Be sure you have it checked by comparing to a known speed. If you're comfortable that your car is accurate set cruse control and compare to your app.

Waze is great for this purpose. Free.

Another vote for Speed Box.

I don't have speed control in my car down here. When I did have one I would set it and never worry about speeding. I want an Android app, that someone is happily using now, that beeps when you exceed the speed limit.

If they even make one.

thank-you

That was a pretty cool effect.
But I was looking for an Android app that someone is happy with now.

Any smart phone can download a Speedometer App. They are very accurate. I use it on my boat because boat speedometer's are worthless.

jj6426 08-23-2015 07:21 PM

Oh my gosh I can't believe all the responses I got. Thank you all so much! I am going to try the GPS from my car. And if that doesn't work, I now know many apps I can use from my new Smart Phone!

I have a speedometer. It serves two purposes. One it tells me how fast I'm going, but more importantly, I reset the odometer every morning so I know how many miles I've traveled that day.

PaulDenise 08-24-2015 04:28 PM

Speed Box on the iphone works great for this purpose.

Kgcetm 08-24-2015 05:12 PM

Go to apps and search for speedometer. There should be several free apps that will tell you how fast you are going.
