Who owns Nancy Lopez pool bar

Am full time resident for 10 years, coming to The Villages for 16 years. I have brought many visitors to our wonderful community and never have I been ashamed of anything we offer until recently. Have you been to the Nancy Lopez pool bar lately. In my opinion it is in drastic need of some paint and updating. Who owns it? Who is responsible for upkeep. Thanks.

The pool bars is operated by Lopez C.C. restaurant. The pool is part of GMS as you must be a priority golf / pool member to use the pool.

Thanks for stating the problem and bringing it to the rest of us who pay for country club golf/tennis/pool upgrade.

One lone voice "telling a manager" who likes the status quo (because not spending to improve it will make his budgets look better at bonus time) will not have much of an impact.

Will observe and write GMS. We don't pay extra to be embarrassed by tacky surroundings when bringing friends (or when just coming by ourselves).

What is wrong with it exactly?

Priority membership not required to eat in the restaurant.

How do you pay for these upgrades?

I don't believe a priority membership is required to use the CC pool bars - just the pool and environs are an up charge.

.

Correct about using the bar at the pool. But the bar is an integral part of "the pool and environs".

If the bar is allowed to be shabby, so is "the pool and environs" for which we pay extra:

Golf The Villages

Have you personally gone there? Most of us go inside to the restaurant to eat. We went there once after golf and it had a simple menu and we didn't notice any run down condition.

First of all it's a pool bar. Meant to be casual and unassuming. Far from shabby.

I haven't noticed that on my visits. At a pool I'm sure there are always spots that need a paint touch up, but not enough to come on here and say "in drastic need".

Average Guy 08-26-2015 11:27 AM

I have been there many times and I think the most important thing to keep in mind is that it is a pool bar - nothing more, nothing less.

When I picture in my mind what a pool bar would look like if it were (in the words of the OP) in "drastic need of some paint and updating," the image is much different from the Nancy Lopez pool bar.

The on,y thing about the Lopez pool bar that bothers me is that the around the door handle is always VERY dirty. I always say to myself(I know I should say it to personnel there), if they can't simply wipe around that door handle everyday what else don't they wipe around? The bathrooms could use a little updating, but it is after all just pool bathroom. Also used by tennis players .

I don't play Lopez much because for us it's so far away, (50 min each way) and with thunderstorms it can be even a longer ride. I remember the second time, it was about 3 years ago and we discovered the pool bar and grill. I said, that's great, it's not as good as getting a burger at the turn, but I'll get one to go with me on the front nine. The bar is in the country club parking lot on the way to the first tee. I ordered a burger and after about 10 minutes they gave me a big styrofoam box which I opened to find a burger and chips. It was so small the chips made it hard to even see, it's about half the size as a Glenview burger, but what really got my attention was the price, $9 plus tax. It was good but I had finished it before I even got to the first tee. That was the last time I went to the pool bar, but I don't remember it looking that shabby or much different than other country club pools.

you should go back. Their sandwiches will fill you up.

She wanted to get the pool restaurant fixed because it looked shabby to her. It took awhile to question whether or not that was true. You take someone's word if they have a lot of posts. Especially if they have a lot of positive posts and try to be helpful.

I haven't looked at the pool restaurant but if there was a problem someone would have supported the shabby statement by now. Don't you think?

"the Nancy Lopez pool bar" is her concern. People on this thread said they looked at the pool bar and it looks fine.
