TV - Here We Come !!
 

Hi Folks. OK . . . we are long time lurkers and we've finally decided it's time to 'take the plunge' ! To make a really long story short, we first saw TV about 4 years ago thanks to friends (snowbirds) who invited us to visit. Couldn't believe the place (too good to be true?) but we were fascinated by it. Took a few more trips down - kept looking in awe at everything - and finally, this past June, did a Lifestyle Preview visit, saw a new house in Hadley that we loved and bought it. Then we came back North to let our family and jobs know we were retiring and moving to Florida. Hope to be there by October 1st - can't wait ! All the great information/tips etc. that we received from everyone here at TOV helped tremendously in making our decision. What a wonderful web site you have all created. So, thanks so much and we're hoping to see you soon in TV.

Congrats! We still hope to be there this fall, as soon as we sell this house. Maybe we will be neighbors soon! Good luck with your move. 040

Thanks everyone for the welcome !! We've read a lot about your Crispers get togethers and we'd love to join you when we get there in October. Being real 'newbies', it will be great to meet some of the veteran Villagers.

where did you buy? the reason I ask is my wife and I bought a lot/house on Plantain Path. we could be neighbors. we should be moving in 10/29.

Congratulations Kathy and Jim!

We close and give possession on Sept. 30th, and will also be starting our new lives in TV on Oct. 1st! We don't know where will be as yet since we are renting for a few months, but are as excited as you are about becoming a bono-fide Villager!!

Yes GG . . from what I've been reading in the past (during my 'lurking days'), Hadley sure sounds like it has a bunch of fun people - and I can't wait to meet everyone both in Hadley and the other great villages (yes, I know, everyone loves their own particular village and that's what makes it so special I think). We've got so much to learn ahead of us . . finding where everything is located and of course getting lost !! It's an adventure that we are really looking forward to.

we have a Place on Cape Cod too so we do half and half for now

Donna . . . I really love your 'glittery' things - really cool ! Not sure where you're located but we're on Hackney Way which is off Ambrosia. That's about all I remember ! Looking forward to getting there are finding our way around (and we'll even have fun getting lost I'm sure).

Hi Pete. Thanks for the good wishes - yes, we are finally going to TV !! It's also nice to know that you actually DO exist. I've heard so much about this Pete in Maine guy that I was beginning to think you were Jim's imaginary friend who might just show up at TV some Day :-) Hope you really do make it down to TV - - we think it's a wonderful place.

Welcome Kathy and Jim. I recently bought in Caroline. Think I'm gonna be spending alot of time hanging out in Hadley. sounds like the fun place to be. I won't be there f/t till April '09 but I can't wait. Again, welcome to Hadley and The Villages. p.s. I was born in Boston, and tonight, my 23 yr. old daughter is hold up in a hotel near Logan as she left her passport on her connecting flight - now has to wait till tomorrow to fly to Spain. It's a small world.

Isn't it a great feeling? The last time I had that tickle of excitement in my belly was the night before Christmas as a little kid. Now the hard part... the months before the big move are trying to say the least. Hang in there and focus on what's at the end of the journey.

Almost On Our Way To Hadley !!
 

Hi guys . . . Well, it's finally happening. We're almost all packed up and the movers will be here this weekend to pick up our stuff and then we are starting our drive down from MA on Sunday (thanks for all the information from you folks who have made this drive from the Northeast many times - great directions !!). We're going to try and be down there by Tuesday (what's this I hear about a hurricane/tropical storm maybe coming up the East Coast later this week??). I'm not going to worry about it . . . we're going to take it slow (maybe a lot slower than we planned :-) but we'll get there eventually.

Anyway, I loved looking at the pictures of everyone at Crispers last week . . . we are looking forward to meeting you all at the October lunch.

Congratulations :a040::a040::a040: We just bought in Bonita. Can't move permanently until 2010, but will go up for long weekends and holidays. We will be at Crisper's luncheon in October, hope to meet you then.

Thanks folks . . looking forward to meeting you too !! I'm not completely sure that I'm responding correctly on this web site . . . hopefully this message will come through. I do like the new format but it took me like forever to get up the courage to post here - - - then of course they changed it. But, like everything else I guess . . . practice makes perfect. Looks like the tropical storm will be right here in MA this weekend (just in time to pack up and drive out). Oh well . . . at least we're hoping it will be clear sailing once we leave the Northeast.

Quick question please . . . I'm planning on calling TV today to make arrangements to pick up our house keys, get passes, mail box keys, house inspection - - all that stuff. How are they about making appointments that 'might' change . . . meaning we're shooting for arriving Tuesday but if we get delayed by the weather, is it a hassle to reschedule appointments with TV and the builder for the walk-through? I know I sound paranoid here . . . but just trying to make sure we have all our bases covered. Since they do this all the time, it's probably a stupid question but I'm going to throw it out there anyway.
