The other evening I was watching the news when the report came on about the power outage some of us experienced. The reporter said that there was a power outage in The Villages, leaving the elderly without AC.
Ok, I know I'm not young and I am considered a 'senior' but I'll be damned if I would call myself or anyone I know 'elderly'. We need to invite the reporters from Wesh 2 to come visit us old, frail, feeble people and try to keep up with us!!:boxing2:

methinks you are a little too sensitive about age . Be thankful that you got this far and that you can respond to this forum with clarity and sound judgment. We all have our turn "15 minutes in the sun" and then the shade.

your post or use an emoticon to show it's not serious then you will be thought of as being serious. No one can see your face or hear your voice so they will not know your attitude....if you are going to post using sarcasm or even humor make it evident....:spoken:

Makes me wonder if the reporter is knowledgeable about The Villages.

Don't forget to tell WESH 2 news all about the kids moving back to The Villages to live with the parents ... (insert sarcasm).

Emoticons or emoji, which form will win out? i wonder how writers managed to convey sarcasm without them.

Hey Trish, I agree! My 24 year old son just came for his first visit and was surprised to see there weren't a bunch of old people here - his words, not mine.

And he was surprised at all the activities. Said he'll be back for visit soon!

Fred, I did use an emoticon...the boxing one. I assumed the reference about us old, frail, feeble people was enough to make you recognize the humor and sarcasm. I just thought the perception of the the Villages was funny, really didn't think my post would be under scrutiny! Sorry :D:shrug::clap2::sad::laugh::jester::thumbup::oops ::BigApplause:

I Came to the conclusion today that I AM elderly. I don't know what a "nae nae" is. Can I live with the inhumanity?

Some people need to spend more in getting to know the fun people on TOTV as miscommunication, often happens.

I knew automatically that Trish was kidding.

Friend of mine visited last October, (not seniors), and one of them remarked the people have a lot more energy, than her.

This is not your typical retirement community.

But some of are old...elderly....whatever. Should it be an insult?

Wow....didn't realize some of you are so serious. Maybe the reporter was right...sheesh.

I haven't been on TOTV in a very long time. Things have certainly changed and I don't think I'll revisit anytime soon. Bye. :(

I don't think that the spot about the electric failure was very flattering to all of us.


But it took a LONG time before they put The Villages on the weather map.
