Cell phone providers

We live in Dunedin and have Verizon as our cell phone provider but we pay alot for minimal service for just the two of us. Any opinions on other service providers? Cost vs. quality of service? Thanks!

Try Straight Talk available at Walmart. They use the Verizon towers and there is no contract. You will have the same quality of service for much lower price!

We use lg flip phones bought through tracfone. Using this service about three years. Told ATT to take a hike with the rate they wanted to charge us. Never regretted it.

I have had a LG Showtime Straight Talk phone using Verizon towers for 2 years and have good luck. Only some use Verizon towers so be sure to check before buying. A disadvantage with a Straight Talk phone is they never update the software.

I live in the new Village Osceola Hills at Soaring Eagles at the southern end of Morris Blvd, near Hwy 44. I am looking for another cell phone provider that works in The Villages other than Verizon. What else do some of you have that is good service & less expensive?

dotti105 11-28-2015 11:58 PM

AT&T service is great but not cheap. They all seem to be too expensive these days!

Biker Dog 11-29-2015 06:29 AM

Tracfone, no contract, pay as you need to, and smartphone available. 5 years now and never a dropped connection.

A couple of years ago we were in TV and I had to call AAA Road Service. I called on my iPhone 5s with Sprint and the calls were dropped at least 5 times! Really frustrating as I had to start all the information all over again! Luckily, the van was in the drive at home - south of 466A! I finally called AAA with my Mom's Tracfone and got right through! However, I do love my phone and how it syncs with my other devices.

Agree, that's what we use. Great deal. Great reception

Tracfone is $7 per month ($20 per quarter) for light users. There are deals periodically where you can buy a year service for under $100 and get a free smartphone. I saw one just yesterday on HSN.

Would that be a Cricket Wireless store or one of the stores that sells its phones/services like Gamestop?
