The FOUND Python in Orlando.

I am sure many of you have been following the story of the escaped snake in Orlando. People who have lived in fear for a month can now breathe easier...

However......."THEY" are gonna return it to it's owner????

What do you think about THAT?

Jima64 10-10-2015 08:25 AM

Don't like it one bit. Oh almost forgot, good morning to you.

I think that's great but, I think it was a cobra unless there were two escaped snakes.

Thank you sir. They all look alike to me.

I think that was politically incorrect. Oh dear.

In either case, I believe this was an escaped "pet" It is not a mass migration of hybrid Burmese and African Rock Pythons from the Everglades, if they even exist in any significant numbers. Rest easy for anywhere from 15 to 100 years

I am not worried about "it" mating and having children. I am worried about the owner mating and having children.

Too late. Those creatures are multiplying exponentially.
Just watch "Water's World"

I keep forgetting you don't live here yet and don't watch Wesh2 News..The Pythons multiplying in the Everglades is old news. This guy is a realty TV person and didn't report it right away. Nearby schools were not allowing kids on the playground and people were afraid to move around freely for a month. A neighbor heard it hissing under her clothes dryer. This is a killer snake that doesn't hug you to death but bites you and bingo.

Actually this one made the national news. I was going to get a wicker basket and a flute to see what I could do with it

Actually, with my arm still quite dysfunctional, I have more time to watch news (and post on TOTV).

Phanatic Luvr 10-10-2015 10:03 AM

Did you all know, the owner of that cobra is Mike Kennedy, one of the men who stars on Airplane Repo?

In that case, please don't let him in MY HOUSE:1rotfl:

ditka41 10-10-2015 10:10 AM

Whoever he is, this guy should not be allowed to keep snakes or other dangerous critters. How irresponsible is it to have had "escapes" before and still continues?

bagboy 10-10-2015 10:19 AM

The owner has a license (s) for his exotics reptiles for whatever reason. It was reported that those licenses are soon to be revoked. We'll see, but I can't imagine being bitten by a cobra and dying from it, in your own garage no less.

tomwed 10-10-2015 10:22 AM

Wasn't it Mike Kennedy who said ""I've had it with these moth........ng snakes on this moth......ng repossessed plane!"?

It was a cobra, not a python. Much more dangerous.

SSSssssssssss! Oh No

Snakes, one of the two thing's I truly fear in this life. I have to think this over. Shall I make my wife aware of this & the other snake problem and risk shoveling snow that's up to our nippies or just bypass this problemo and claim ignorance of the snake situation till after we sign on the dotted line. I was leaning towards The Villages for all the obvious reason's and then somewhere near the Orange Blossom Gardens water tower I observed a sign on a post in front of a stunningly beautiful home that said Snow Evacuation Route. We desperately want to leave the snow & the bitter cold and the high tax's of N.J. but really need to face the truth about the snakes. I know it sounds silly but the ant's, intense heat, gator's & other chair saving & golf cart path will never bother us a bit. Please tell me or us?? your experience with snakes in The Villages, the kind that are not human....please. SSSssssssssss!

This is a no-brainer---there is no "snake problem"
Some idiot in Orlando had a pet Cobra that got out and was captured 1 month later. Some other idiot in Miami let some African Rock Pythons out. There have been six spotted in the last 10 years, all in a 1 square mile area just outside Miami.
All the other monster snake/ hybrid pythons coming to a village near you is nothing but hype, talk and speculation.
Florida has 46 species of snakes, 6 of which are venomous. Central Florida has 35 species of snake, 4 are venomous. And New Jersey has 23 species of snake, 2 of which are venomous. Venomous snake bites are rare and can largely be avoided.
So, if your ophidiophobia causes you to view 23 species as acceptable and 35 as not, stay in the frozen tundra (which btw is mild compared to central NY)
But bottom line, you have more to fear from line dancers, seat savers, and those that post on TOTV than you do from snakes

I have a feeling we'll be seeing you soon

jblum315 10-10-2015 02:11 PM

Don't get me started on snakes in Florida. We had two coral snakes at our home in Miami. One coiled around a sprinkler head and the other one IN the mailbox.
It's a miracle that I'm alive to tell about it. Just luck.
And yes they were coral snakes, not the ones that look like coral snakes. Our next door neighbor worked for the Serpentarium and he confirmed it.

Well, that was Miami. I don't think any snakes are getting into the postal station mailboxes we have. The lawn sprinkler heads are too low for anything to coil around, and the flower beds---probably should look twice before putting your hand into vegetation anyway.

I think you may be scaring our neighbors from NJ unecessarily

OK

I confessed all that I now know about snakes in The Villages to my wife. Turns out her sister in Hollywood Florida already told her its pretty much a non issue. Whew....Thank God..I already sold the snowblower. We are fun people and are alway's ready to have a laugh...the thing I can't wait to laugh about is the call's or even better the text's I get to make to the people who are trying to sabotage our move to Florida when the first significant snow fall happen's. It's gonna be the greatest. Thank's for the snake fact's I should have known better or Googled it first. My bad I'll behave now, I'm gonna Google how to conquer the fear of SSSssssssssnakes!

redwitch 10-10-2015 06:11 PM

I once started to sit on my front porch here when i heard a noise under my chair. I looked and it was a beautiful black racer doing it's very best to get away from me. I moved back a couple of steps and it was gone in a flash. Most snakes will do anything possible to stay from humans and that includes the ones that live in TV. Sides, anything that eats rats can't be all bad.

Like I said, I had a feeling we'd be seeing you soon
Personally, I'd rather be Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark in the snake pit than go thru another winter with 192 inches of snow
Time for you to start living your dream (forget the snake nightmare--it's fictional anyway)

After the movie Jaws so many people in New Jersey no longer enjoyed riding the waves in the ocean.

Don't let yourself or your spouse screw this up too. We're not getting younger. You got a better chance of getting run over by a Mack Truck on the way down.
