TV Street Names?
 

Who selects the names for the streets in TV? Developer? County? Just curious.

Probably a computer program

I doubt it...that would assume there would be some logic behind it!

Apparently the Developer in at least some cases. One street was named after our sales agent.

When I went to work for the villages we took classes and one was the history of the Villages...we were informed that one family member(a woman if I recall correctly)was in charge of naming all of the streets....IMO she's done a great job...although if it was myself I'd have been a bit more eclectic... :-)

Didn't they get the same typing chimpanzees that were trying to duplicate Beethoven to do it?

My favorite is Odell Circle, where 2/3 of the circle is named Bailey Trail! That's always fun to try and explain!

My favorite is Infinity. It's in a newer section of town. Somewhere I have a photo of me and my bike under the sign. I sent it to my son and said I biked all the way to Infinity and Beyond.

I like Pigeon Place and Pigeon Court...............they are two miles away from each other.

Many are named after locations in Michigan due the morse family roots.

Gatsby is a street in The Village of Hadley.

The Village of Hadley is located opposite The Village of Hemingway.

Hadley Richardson was Hemingway's first wife. Their story was told in a novel titled The Paris Wife.

It has been said that Hadley was Hemingway's favorite wife though he left her because he was an ego driven horndog.

While Hemingway and Hadley were living in Paris, they hung around with F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda. I think they invented partying.

Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby so I guess that might be how they reached for the name of the street Gatsby.

That's all I got this morning. One street. Maybe.

Over in the new section I swear I saw Neighborly Drive and Fellowship Loop and Friendly Lane and ****ed Off Circle.

In St. Charles you can stand on the corner of Baldwin and Basinger. Let's hope they don't sink to the corner of Kanye and Kim Streets.

Many of the street names in the Village of Polo Ridge are named after polo players.
For example, Atwell, Evelyn, Gooding, Campbell and Archer are all last names of polo players.

what no tiger woods???

I have a few suggestions for the new areas:

Coyote Court
Bobcat Boulevard
Poop Place
Seatsaver Street
Dancers Drive
Whiskey Way
Rue Rude
Leadfoot Lane
Tree Trimmer Terrace

I wonder how much someone would pay to have a street named after themselves? It's like vanity plates, only better. $1,000?
What if it turned out to be a Dead End? gulp

When someone has a street named after them, they run the risk of embarrassing themselves. We used to have Pete Rose Way in Cincinnati.


I would like to have a grandchild named after me. Wait. I do.

I would have liked that as well. Not complaining, I have 4 gorgeous and gregarious granddaughters.

You forgot Tailgate Trail and Gate Crasher Way.

It might be a good time to bring that idea up! I see they've resorted to Boardroom Trail and Ink Spot Way!:MOJE_whot:
