John Bibas car shooter?

Well its been over a year since John Bibas fired his 9mm into a car on 466. Has he been sentenced yet. If so what time did he get.

Looking at Lake County records you can see an overview of the filings and hearing. Bibas waived his right to a speedy trial. There have been multiple postponements and reschedules. Last week the defense asked the prosecutor to give them an address for a witness so they can have a deposition. Why that took one year, or perhaps the prosecution added a new witness, no idea. I have attached snips of the charges, the events and the docket. As you may be able to see, there is a conference today at 1:30

He's still out and about. I've seen him several times in Spanish Springs and at Dunkin Donuts. I guess he just has one of those faces, easy to recognize.

GossipGirl 11-13-2015 01:52 PM

Or that car really did try to run him over and the shooting was self defense. I read the prosecution has postponed many of the hearings; turns out the driver of the car has an extensive domestic violence record.

All I can say, he's damn lucky--in another county he could be facing a minimum of 15 years

You can go to jail for pointing a firearm a person, you're in real deep poop if you discharge a firearm into an occupied car or structure. If he gets to serve 5 years -he should consider himself lucky !!

Also, look up the shooters involvement with a murdered woman in Oakland, Nj--his tat's make him look like a real pussy cat. too

I do believe that people should withhold judgement on legal matters until the facts come in, if and when they do.

A 67-year-old Villages motorcyclist was arrested Thursday after he allegedly blocked in a vehicle with help of a fellow motorcyclist and then fired shots into the car during a road rage incident, according to Lady Lake police.

John Augustine Bibas, who has tattoos of a sword with a bloody tip and a skeleton holding an ax, was charged with shooting into or throwing deadly missiles into a vehicle. He was released from the Lake County jail after posting a $10,000.

According to an arrest affidavit, Bibas and another motorcycle were traveling behind the car headed east on County Road 466 in Lady Lake. The driver told police that Bibas kept tailgating him while trying to pass.

At some point, the motorcyclist rode on the center divider and cut between the victim’s car and another vehicle and then passed him as the other motorcycle stayed behind.

The report adds that Bibas then suddenly put on his brakes in front of the car, causing it to stop. The other motorcyclist then allegedly pulled up behind the car, which prevented the victim from backing up.

The victim told police he began to honk — only for Bibas to pull out a gun and shoot the car.

The victim added he was able to turn his wheel hard and drive off to the Recreation Plantation RV Resort where he called police.

Police said they spotted what appeared to be two bullet holes in the car and officers later found Bibas on Lake Ella Road and arrested him.

Thats the report that I read, you're areal threat to a vehicle behind you.

That is one part of the report. Not all of it. That is the drivers story which does not match the bystanders 911 calls.
Do your homework folks. Read the whole police report.

If you have the "whole police report" then post it online for us, or provide a link to it. You have claimed that the car driver has a domestic abuse history. I have no idea if that is true, nor if it is true how you would know it, I just wish to very clearly state that under our system of laws, the past behavior of an injured party is not part of the decision to be made. Even prostitutes have a right not to be raped and their rapist should expect the full weight of the law to fall upon them. So if Mr. Bibas shot at a car containing occupants it does NOT matter what the past legal history of those occupants may be and does not excuse or reduce the seriousness of his behavior.

GossipGirl 11-13-2015 08:33 PM

A history of multiple domestic violence convictions shows that the driver could have instigated the situation and possibly was enraged enough to attempt to run a person over.

A history of beating on women shows the driver has an anger problem and the possibilty exists that he was the one harassing the motorcyclist.

What type of criminal history did the 67 year old biker have?

Furthermore, just because a "story" is in the paper and on TV doesn't make it true. If it is true then I'm certain it would be a VERY easy & quick conviction.

GossipGirl 11-13-2015 08:51 PM

The burden of proof is not on me. I'm not claiming innocence or guilt for either side. I simply pointed out that there is more to the story.

Note: there isn't an attempted murder charge on Bibas. There's likely a reason for that.

I think everyone should wait until the case is over and stop harassing the man. No one here was a witness to the apparent crime.

...stop posting his picture and where he can be seen, stop posting demeaning things about a person you do not know. The guy is drinking coffee not booze. He's not a thug with a long rap sheet.

Media tells slanted stories because it sells. Choose your sources wisely.

I did my homework. This country allows records to be open to the public. Kindly, you should do your own homework before making a judgement - And not ask to copy my answers.
