Golf cart rides, dancing in the Squares. Uncle Donald's Farm. Golf cart rides. Family pool if not too cold. And more golf cart rides.

I met one grandmother down here that told me at the end of their visit including Disney she asked her grandkids, around the same age as yours, what the best thing was. They said kayaking.
I once read how the best first date is doing something a little dangerous, like skiing or maybe fast rides. Something where there is a controlled risk. The grandmom told me it was an inexpensive day. But I also remember canoeing with my younger son and my friend and his younger son and his boy cried the entire time. So I guess it depends on the kids and what they're like. |
An earlier post.

For everyone's sake (including theirs) do NOT allow them to drive your golf cart! No good can come of this.

Wild Bill's airboat ride was a big hit with our grandkids!

Fishing
FISHING. If they have no experience fishing, this is a great opportunity for them to learn.
At their ages they don't need a license. However, IF AN ADULT ASSISTS THEM IN ANY MANNER, THE ADULT MUST HAVE A LICENSE. You can get inexpensive fishing gear at Walmart. There are several public access fishing ponds in The Villages. You can find the list with a Google search. Note that they request you catch and release. My favorite pond is on the southwest corner of the traffic circle at Buena Vista and El Camino Real. I've seen kids use bread on a small hook in the small pond and then put the small fish they catch on a larger hook and catch bass in the big pond. |

Take them to watch the radio controlled models; planes, racing boats, racing cars. All dates and times are listed in the Rec News.
For your age group consider a visit to LEGOLAND; great for kids under 11 years, not crowded, no long lines for rides, and most rides are geared for young children. Take some time and develop/write up a golf cart "scavenger hunt". Find 20 or so landmarks in your neighborhood(i.e. how many fire hydrants are in Paradise Circle?, what is the favorite color of the people at 511 Smith St? (last name on sign post is Brown) ) Then let them try to find them. Either you drive or better yet, let their parents do the navigating. Let them hit golf balls at the American Legion driving range on Rolling Acres near the wood working shop. They have childrens' clubs they will loan you. Teach them shuffle board during the off hours when the courts are not being used. |
There's this place just about an hour south of here called Disney World. I hear that it's a pretty good place for kids.

Drag them to wonderful Cypress Gardens to see the ski show. Oh. Wait. I bet it's not there anymore. Bet it's condos now.
