Walk behind lawn mowing service
 

I just finished searching the site and found most of the talk of push mower services to be old post. Knowing how these mowing companies disappear over time, we are looking for referrals of recent walk behind mowing companies. We are NOT interested in companies that use riding mowers.:bowdown:

BTW I forgot to mention we have zoysia grass.

We have Deans. Request they use walk behind mowers instead of riders. Have them for 3 years now and switched early on from rider to walk. No complaints. Charges us the same price either way. Hope it helps.

Thanks. We had Deans for about 3 years and had some problems with the chemical end of their business, so we changed all our lawn services to another company. The present company no long uses walk behind mower only riding mowers which digs into the lawn ever where he turns. That is why we are looking for a new service.

We are always being asked "Who does your mowing?" Have referred many.

He will walk or ride, we also prefer walking. He also does Garden Service, Weeding, Mulch and trimming.

We have a corner lot and he charges us $55

We have asked him not to mow this week because we don't like grass too short. He is very accommodating.

We use Scott's Lawn service . South of 466a. Cut every two weeks at this time of year and every week once grass starts growing again around March/April I think.

Uses walk behind mower and no rider type.

Has been dependable.

You mean he cuts every 2 weeks this time of the year and weekly over the summer? Does he bill at the end of the month or bill prior to cutting your lawn?

I have been using Fernview Farms for a year now and have been very happy with them. They only use push mowers. Their phone number is: 352/245-7905. They are also quite reasonable.

Whatever they call the grass here it isn't lawn grass. more like crabgrass. You can park your car on it and it does no harm. Thus I don't see how riding mower makes any difference

You are correct with St Augustine except Zoysia grass does get damage when cut with a zero turn riding mower. Not looking to start an argument, just looking for a good walk behind mowing service that does not need to be prepaid.

We had the same problem with the riders. They would dig in on turns and on one side of the house the tires were always in a swale which damaged the grass from the constant tire tracks. We asked our present lawn guy to use walk behind mowers a couple of years ago. End of problem. We too have Zoysia.
