Youngest age to live in villages wth grandparents.

I thought I read it somewhere, and can not find it. My g/d is in college in Tampa, 19, and wants to stay with us during the summer break and get a job in TV. Is that allowed?

village dreamer 01-19-2016 06:57 PM

yes, she can live with you for as long as you want. just no school age kids k-12.

vj1213 01-19-2016 06:58 PM

Yes, the rule is no one under the age of 19 can reside in your home for over 30 days throughout the year

Thank you. I won't tell her that. LOL

Actually, it's no one under the age of 19. I don't know where you got your information.

I thought they had to be on the deed to come me go as they please? Otherwise, wouldn't visitor pass be require every 30 days with approval? I thought this rule was established to prevent 2 or more relatives living out of home? Example; I've got 3 grand kids over 19 so guess they can come and live in Two bed room house for as long as I want them?

My renters aren't on my deed and they can come and go as they please. I signed a form (can't remember the name) so they don't have to renew visitor passes. They have a different color resident ID that is good for 2-3 years. I'm sure someone on TOTV knows the name of the form and the type of ID.

Yep, as long as you can tolerate an over 19 year old

Yes, over-19-yr-olds can live here. From experience with our kids working for college and graduating and finding good jobs, it is rewarding to see them work and put their earnings in the bank without having to spend over half of it on expensive housing in Tampa or other such area (at least $800-900/month even with a roommate, to have a rental that has decent security against crime).

Helping them save cash to put away for college and for establishing themselves after graduating is so rewarding. Our kids now put savings before spending on better cars, trips, etc.

Many cannot save because of credit card debt, new car payments etc. while repaying needed student loans. Learning to save and not live on credit is why so many Villagers have been able to retire here in this beautiful place.

I applaud the girl. In this day and age fiscal responsibility and a work ethic are hard to come by. I wonder how she will feel when she realizes that she is supporting half the country that do not have her ideals.

Our granddaughter lived with us for three months while doing an physical therapy internship in Ocala. We just renewed her guess pass every month. she was 23.

AN over 19 guest that uses your address can also get a non-owner resident ID that is good for 3 years.

I'm not sure that occupancy permits would allow five people living in a two bed room house. I'm not familiar with the rule but I know there is something in the law about how many people may occupy a dwelling based on the square footage and number of bedrooms.

Actually, I believe that it is over 19. A person who is 18 and one day is over 18. I believe that they have to been 19 plus one second.

No, "spongeing" off parents/grandparents would be never having a summer job while in college, as is the case with some of our kids' peers who took out student loans for every dollar spent for college--even for their spending money, clothing, etc. (You can't make this stuff up).

"Spongeing" off parents/grandparents would be living for free in their home after graduating from college with an associates' or bachelor's degree because they are not willing to move out of their preferred location, to seek work and a job with their degree elsewhere. This happens all the time, and the book explaining it is Co-Dependent No More.

When you bought the house you signed a contract that detailed the covenants. When you have neighbors that believe that the covenants are being violated they can make am anonymous call and an investigation will start. There are people here that prefer to live in an over 55 community, not a family community.

Just go or call the admin., Office in Lake Sumter. They will explain the rules and how to get it all done. It will not be a problem.
