What's wrong with Christie?
 

Does anyone else wonder why Christie attacked Rubio in the debate like a school yard bully, when it did nothing to improve his chances for nomination? Rubio was no threat to Christie. Didn't Christie do about the same thing to Romney?

I believe that Christie probably did more damage to the Republican party than the DNC campaign could ever hope to achieve. Christie has no chance at all of ever achieving his goal of the White House and now, he probably alienated himself from the RNC.

Rubio is supposed to be the best choice of candidates to win against Hillary. Christie may have caused a GOP defeat. He was instrumental in Romney's loss, in my opinion.

Was it really an attack to point out that Rubio kept repeating the same memorized 25 second speech?

Maybe the Donald made it worth his while to sacrifice himself in order to bring down Rubio. That would be a smart thing for Donald to do. Cheaper than running ads. Just cut a deal with Christie, brilliant.

I give Christie credit for calling Rubio out on an obvious amateur memorization routine that was terribly executed. God for Christie for saying on stage what most of us were wondering anyway.

As far as Rubio being cited as the best candidate to beat Clinton, I would like to hear from those who pronounce that explaining just why that is supposed to be the case.

In my opinion if Trump is the republican candidate and Clinton lasts long enough and the people stupid enough to have her as their choice....then there is no better candidate to do what needs to be done to defeat her.
I also think if those would turn out to be the choices it would be Clinton's and the democratic party's worst nightmare.

Christie did what he does sorta Trump-like...no politics....full in your face challenge......

Rubio would be a light weight that would fold under the Clinton mean machine...he is a bit too political......better than Clinton by light years.

Christie was being his usual AH. He is like a bully that has to have his way because he is bigger and uglier than the rest of the school kids. He knew he was on his way out and decided to take someone with him. Rubio sounds like he is memorizing his statements, but the reality he is a decent speaker and can put two sentences together and not sound like a dock worker, like Trump and Christie sound. Nothing against their manner of speaking but, why is it a crime for an intelligent person to speak intelligently? Yes, he did repeat himself. He had to with Christie interrupting him and taunting him like a schoolyard bully.

Rubio put them all to shame later in the debate when he left them all behind with his knowledge of national security and terrorism. That is probably more important than Christie lying to everyone about how he is going to put Hillary in jail. As if he could.

Yes, Christie was a contributing factor in Romney's failure to win. Christie is the type of friend that you don't turn your back on.

That thought did not occur to me, but is a valid point. I don't really think that Rubio was a viable threat to Trump at that time though. Maybe Christie is just self-destructive?

everytime we nominate the person whom the media touts as most able to beat the democrats, we lose...stop listening to them and vote for Trump. he may sound like a dock worker (not a negative in many circles) but that does not mean he is less intelligent than Rubio...he has been intelligent enough to build an empire and we need him to use those talents to rebuild our country.

I don't think Trump can win. Too many Independents don't like him and you have to have the Independent vote to win an election. A lot of Republicans don't like him and would not turn out to vote. Lets see how he does down South before jumping on his band wagon.

Just vote for who you would like to be President. Trying to figure out who can beat the other party's candidate is a waste of time.

But some think for some reason they have the answer.

It is so simple. All we have to do is be sure to get Rubio to the nomination and we got it!!

I would still like to hear why some think that is the case.

Rubio started it and Christie finished it. But Christie is gone and Rubio is still here.

I didn't see it as Rubio starting it, but I may have missed that part. I do know that Christie made the conflict into something personal for some reason. He seems to have a loyalty problem, and thinks only of himself. He also stabbed Romney in the back, so I wouldn't want him as a friend.

Looks like Fiorina is out too. She quit after the poor showing in NH.

Now, if Cruz, Bush and Carson would quit, they would have a nice little race to the finish. The reason I included Cruz in that group is that I do not like him for president. He didn't even make a good senator. Never gets along with his own party, let alone the other. He also refuses to compromise to get the job done. On top of that, he talks like a TV preacher. Just my opinion.

Take a look at the number of dark attacks that Rubio had against Christie in January. They are out there. There are plenty by his supporters that aren't there, but they do exist. The devil is a saint too. All politicians have a lot more in common with the devil, than they do with the better side of saints.

Again rule one in politics, say anything, do anything to get elected. Then run for reelection on your record. You can have the best policies in the world. If you don't get elected, they are worthless.

I believe those Rubio attacks you speak of were on Christie's policies, not personal attacks. In my opinion, that is a big difference. Apparently, others thought the same way, and Christie is on the outside looking in AGAIN. He back stabbed his supposed friend Romney the last election, so I guess it is karma that his lack of loyalty is causing him grief once more. Bush needs to take a lesson from this also. He has become sneaky and petulant. I don't care for Trump, but I don't like a sign of weakness such as Bush is displaying. He lost his school yard fight with Trump and now he has gone home and got his momma protecting him from the big bad bully. Not exactly a presidential trait that I would/could admire. It seems that Kasich is the only one with any class, and he is half liberal or as they call them in politics, a moderate. But, he is much better than anything that the other side has to offer. Too bad he doesn't have the support to carry him through to the nomination.

I will continue to support Rubio until if such a time comes where he quits the campaign. I still think he is the best that we have in this crop.

Trump did very well among independents in New Hampshire...in fact he did astonishingly well in most categories. he will have until november to get his message across and i think he can certainly win.

One he's from NJ, stiinch of Bridge gate. Obama a&& kisser, all mouth. Other than he's over weight that about it IMO. :rant-rave:

He sounds real good, but he is going to have some trouble coming toward him when he starts explaining how he has flipped on several issues from his stance in the past. He really was a Democrat and supported their ideology to the max. Almost everything Hillary advocates, Trump has been there. He even supported Hillary and made some quotables that are probably video'd.

I'd like to believe that he is for real, but he has flipped more than Obama, and that is not a good thing. No one knows where he is coming from, or maybe we do. So, it's hard to have confidence in where he wants to take us.

Impossible. For one to flip one has to make a decision or take a stand in order to flip from. Obama has not made a decision or taken a position other than suporting and inflamming racism and running cover for the islamic terrorists.

I really respect most of you that post on this site. i'm sure some have served in the Armed Forces my comment leaves you out of the mix an you stand above all others in my eyes. I just hope above all that the correct person gets the presidency. Someone who can unite reasonable people. We face to many problems and need someone strong who can manage many things at once and do them well. I don't care who it is but I hope it isn't a person who would lie to a military family for any reason. I did not have the privilege to serve.

Here is what I see. Those voters still capable of making individual judgments struggle to find a suitable candidate among the meager choices given them.

Those loyal to party at any cost will let backroom bosses and bias news people choose their candidate.

Its unfortunate because in many respects the system is rigged. Worse yet again we see that voter fraud was detected this time in New Hampshire.

These are very bad signs for a democracy.

Christie got what he deserved. He criticized Rubio for repeating memorized messages to counter all responses but in all fairness every one of the candidates repeat the same message. In Christie's case it was I am the only one on this stage that as a federal prosecutor.......................
Bush repeats his time as a Florida Governor and so on

so in my mind it wasn't what Rubio was saying but that he reacted badly to Christie's hit.

How anyone can support either Sanders or Clinton is beyond me because both are and will be a cancer permeating this nation and we already need treatment from the likes of Obama the Terrible.

Cruz is out for me unless he does file a Declaratory Judgment concerning his citizenship. Beside which I am left with the impression every time he speaks that he is a snake oil salesman

Trump has so many skeletons and the ability to keep news media at bay. He also does not have the demeanor and delivery that instill confidence in people

Kasich would be a much better choice than Rubio. Rubio is a "Johnny Come Lately". He is the mirror image of everything you hate Obama for, very little experience, repeats same things over and over like Mr. Machine, is bad under pressure, and will not work with Democrats to get anything done.

Democrats need someone else to run for president. There is pressure on the FBI to release the remaining 3,500 Clinton emails. There should be an indictment or a walk on the emails very soon. If she is indicted, another Democrat will enter the race. Sanders is not going to be the Democrat nominee for president. The system is rigged against him.

Kasich was a one shot deal. Great guy, but too moderate for Republicans that have been hosed over by this liberal administration. Rubio just stumbled and will get his stride back. He is not the machine he's been portrayed. He is just a good speaker and got hung up on an attempt to express a point at the time that idiot Christie attacked. Rubio is very intelligent and knows his national security, which is Killary's weak point. All she is doing is telling the females out there to vote for her because she represents all women. Today's women are not stupid and will reject her if she doesn't come up with an agenda other than gender bias. She might con the minorities though. They seem to have a chip on their shoulders thanks to the divisive, racist president.

Rubio is giving the stump speech every where he goes. That is why Christie brought up Rubio repeating statements over and over, and never going off script.

look at the last paragraph. Rubio represents the Republican donor base, and not its voter base. Rubio is a Wall Street globalist running as a tea party conservative.

Give Kasich a chance. He is going after the large northern states. Will this work? Who knows!

I like Kasich, but he is way too moderate for the South. I doubt he will be able to stay in there long enough to get to the Northern states. It takes money. Many on here apparently have not heard Rubio in an interview. He handles himself very well. Yes, Rubio is a bit on the moderate side also, but I haven't found a perfect candidate in my lifetime.

The problem Rubio is going to have his experience. You can't spend seven years bitching about Obama's lack of experience, and then put forward someone with identical experience. The Democratic won't directly compare him to Obama. However, they will attack him on his lack of experience.

Repeating himself over and over at the NH debate will appear in many negative ads. He is not going to live that one down.

I am still going to cross my fingers about Kasich. What really bothers me is Kasich accepting Medicaid help under Obamacare for the less fortunate in his state, and being crucified for it. Since when is helping people a bad thing?

Another "informed voter." Have you been sleeping during this campaign season? How do you get the idea that Rubio has no experience? Because he appears to be young? He is one year younger than Cruz. Rubio has over 15 years experience. How do you get that he is anything close to being as inexperienced as Obama was when he ran? Does anyone question Cruz's experience of a little over two years? Is there a cutoff date for being considered too young, because Cruz is only one year older than Rubio.

Gov. Christie has made two decisions that directly negatively affected me in NJ. That being said he is a very good manager. We have been "Under Attack" since he took over from Corzine. He is brutal with his words but he was the correct man at a rough time here in Jersey. It's very possible you may hear from him again soon. Trump & Christie. Trump is smart he's not going to surround himself with a bunch of numb nuts he gonna get the best & toughest and manage his way outta this mess.

Where the hell did I ever mention Cruz? No one is questioning Cruz's experience, or his age. They are only questioning his sanity. Cruz doesn't get along with anyone. He is totally unfit to be president no matter how old he is.

For the matter of record for about the 20th time, I want Kasich to be president. A Kasich/Rubio would be my choice. If it is a brokered convention, I don't think Trump, and Cruz would combine their delegates. The egos of each would not accept the other as the nominee. Trump would never play second fiddle to Cruz. Cruz might.

If Kasich has a strong showing in the northern states, he might be able to get Rubio's, and Bush's delegates. This will happen only, if Rubio or Bush drop out. If Kasich would except being VP, his experience would really help, whoever the president would be.

I really do not think that Hillary will pick Kasich as her VP nominee - as she IS going to be the next President.

IF the Republican nominee - whoever it may be - is savvy enough, he will choose Gov. Nikki Haley as the VP nominee.

Why? Because of the gender? Because of the ethnicity? We've already seen how that is no longer a factor. Obama proved that when you chose someone because of their ethnicity, you may not necessarily get what the country needs. That person may not qualify. If you are suggesting that it will enhance the probability of the Republican getting elected, then that could be a factor for some of those shallow voters.
