Dog Park across from Belle Glade

I hate it!!! When you are on the tee of the 5th hole most of the time there are yapping dogs and loud owners. Dog owners wonder why non dog owners think they are rude. They let their dogs do their business in our yards, many think the mail box areas are their personal dog parks, when they do pick up the crap many throw it in the trash cans or in the sewer drains that go directly into the ponds. Now that I got that off my chest let the hate begin!

Sounds like you already started it. You've got your golfing space, the dogs have theirs. Don't like the noise, wear ear plugs at this tee.

dewilson58 02-22-2016 11:28 AM

The dog park has never bothered me.

Now that I think about it..............I've played on golf courses, bordered by houses with dogs, cats, kids, pools and lakes/rivers with boats and then, there was this one crazy time I heard an airplane..........don't even get me started on trains.

:ho:

bdorman 02-22-2016 11:31 AM

Me, me, me, me!

Ya know what I hate? When I go out to dinner and there are other people in the restaurant! How can the staff focus all their attention on me when there are a bunch of other inconsiderate people who want to eat? Don't get me started on parking lots...

BSuper 02-22-2016 11:41 AM

More of my amenity fee goes to your golf courses than to my dog park so you know what you can do with all your complaining.

Bonnevie 02-22-2016 01:17 PM

look at it in a half glass full way--you have an excuse for shanking your drive :)

Don't be so quick to assume that all non dog owners share your nasty feelings about all dog owners.

regas56 02-22-2016 01:46 PM

I love dogs and I'm not good enough player to worry about them barking besides they'll love you the same whether you're a scratch OR a boogie golfer so I say 2 thumbs up for our furry little friends..

Pfffft! Are you, say, a 25 hdcp? Other than SOME professional golfers, high handicappers are the ones that I've always noticed are bothered by every little thing. Waaaaa! Call the waambulance. I play there at least once a week and never notice it, but then, full disclosure - I'm a dog owner.

I will be glad to. Where do you live, Sweetie?

I don't have a dog of my own, but I truly enjoy many of my friends dogs. I like dogs a lot and kitties too. We have two of those. I sort have made up my mind that people who don't like furries are not the people I want to know better.

I have played golf for over forty years and I have so many other more reasonable excuses for not hitting well. I will be glad to share.

I think in the scheme of things, that dogs yapping, and people talking, and even those occasional trespassing dogs are far better than so many other troubles in this world.

sharoni 02-22-2016 07:16 PM

I am one of those dog owners and I also play golf...When I am close to the dog park playing golf, I am comforted by the barking dogs...I LOVE IT! Maybe you should play a course that doesn't butt up to the dog parks! TV is a community of dog lovers with a few that don't play by the rules...We take our dogs for a walk to the mail station, or in our cart. If this isn't acceptable either, stay home might work!

zonerboy 02-22-2016 07:41 PM

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.....
Sorry, can't help it. The OP's post is the funniest thing I've come across on this site in my 4 plus years here in The Villages.
Guess I need to get out more.

I have lived on golf courses for the past 25 years. Here's what I hate. Loud golfers swearing when they have a bad shot, trespassing on my property when their shot goes awry, breaking my windows, hitting my house throwing their cigarette butts in my yard, candy wrappers, empty chip bags and....need I go on? Yes, I am a golfer and a dog owner. Live and let live.

golfing eagles 02-22-2016 09:56 PM

Unless the dog barked during your 5 foot putt to win the U.S. Open, I wouldn't get my undies in a bunch

Phanatic Luvr 02-22-2016 11:25 PM

I have a solution .... don't play that course if it bothers you SO SO much.

asianthree 02-23-2016 02:31 AM

Not sure I could use dogs barking in the distance for a poorly hit ball, but I do have an issue when teeing off and the foursome behind you is talking in your back swing. Now if they start barking in my back swing i would not be tolerate either

OP, I have been avoiding this Thread until I needed a laugh or two. The "dog threads" are always fun. "That's all I've got to say about that". Everything has already been said---time to get ready for the Strawberry Festival! 😊
