Do You have Daughters and if you did ?

Did you ever purchase a $20,000 dress for them to wear at a dinner- party that had exactly zero to do with them ?

Gee wonder who paid for the girls two dresses which cost over $37,000 in total ?

Any ideas ? Guesses as to who paid for them ?

Wonder what Michele`s dress cost us and what her Mother`s dress cost .
President Wonderful and his Bride are going to take us for every nickel they can on their way out the door !

But don`t forget they / he i9s for the " working families and the poor " just not here in the US however .
Now on to Cuba to continue our show ! Woop ! Woop !

Guest 03-16-2016 04:33 PM

The " great- unwashed " taxpayers got the privilege to pay for the dresses and much much more no doubt .

I'd personally write a check for their traveling clothes, IF they would travel away from D.C. permanently.

This is unbelievable.

Much much more. It costs the taxpayers billions to "keep" a president. Trips, security, white house, etc.

Can we afford Trump? What if he has a reunion and invites all his wives, kids and in-betweens. Do we need to dress all of them? He's the only POTUS that is downsizing to move in the white house, fly air force 1 or use the presidential cruise ship. We do have a decent presidential cruise ship?

Would these expenses be any different if a different president was in office? I don't think so

What I want to cut is irresponsible spending which would take some space here to define but we all know it when we see it. We all know that presidents and congressmen/women vote themselves boondogles junkets etc that are meaningless . We all know that many congressmen/women feel they are the elite and worthy ofl their entitlements

The only way to stop all of this is to shrink the federal government and that is not going to happen.

You have the same president, congressional leaders and political candidates right now at war with the 1% while they themselves are worse because they have made their fortunate off the backs of taxpayers and unlike the 1% have not created wealth but have added to our deficit. Washington is filled with scoundrels. The political class only purpose is to create wealth for themselves

Personal Best Regards:

Too late to worry about Obama's expenses now. Thank goodness, we only have to put up with him for less than another year. Somebody pay off his contract and kick his *** out of D.C.

You are right. Trump will say "Hey, $20, 000 gowns for wives and daughters are past practice, it's in the rule book." That's the Art of the Deal that makes him great.

Or, he may pay for it himself. After all, he doesn't need the job or the paycheck. And I doubt he will pull a Clinton and steal $20,000 worth of gov property when he leaves office.

OR......he will say he will do his best to get his wife and kids down to that level of spending and try to make the cheaper line of clothes do for now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or he may not.
"Further, of the approximately $12 million Trump’s campaign spent in 2015, about $2.7 million went toward reimbursing Trump-affiliated companies for services provided to the campaign, such as traveling in his own plane and helicopter, according to a New York Times analysis."

Like him or not...a distinct advantage of the Trump family getting elected, they do not need the WH or the government to provide them the ability to step up their spending.

As I said above, the Trumps unlike the Obamas, needed to be in the WH to live lavishly as they think they do. Not even close to the way Trump lives.
Trump being a business man will most certainly take the allowances that are gifted to him as a resident of the WH.

Guest 03-17-2016 10:36 AM

But, the point is....WHO CARES???? The cycle will go on and on and on.

Guest 03-17-2016 10:46 AM

Will he try to sell his wife's line of fake jewelry on QVC? Selling the steaks, the wine and the magazine kinda backfired as a candidate. The secret service guy was well paid to protect the merchandise from shop-lifters. I hope he got a tip.

Never heard anything from the repubs when bush43 was burning the airways on vacation every week to texas, and maine and his other romps. I know you are seniors and your memories are short, so I just wanted to remind you.

Yes, we are seniors, thus TOTV forum. Hope you enjoy your visit. And I realize you must be young or you would remember that Bush went on working trips to his Texas home. He didn't need to rent million dollar vacation homes or fly all the way to Hawaii. If you knew anything, you would know that Bush did a lot of business from his home in Texas, presidential business. Just wanted to remind you, in case you happen to be old enough that you should know. Sometimes those liberal talking points don't include important aspects of issues.

Guest 03-18-2016 07:06 PM

He went to Texas, his home state instead of flying all the way to Hawaii Obama's home state. He had to rent because he could not afford to be a home owner. What's your point? We should elect people how live close to DC and own homes? Is this is your advice for young people?

I accidentally pushed enter. I need to fix this.

Bush went to Texas, his home state. Obama flew to Hawaii, his home state. One man was a wealthy homeowner the other had to rent.

What's your point? We should elect wealthy people who live close to DC and own homes?

Read the post over again, S.L.O.W.L.Y. Bush worked from his home in Texas. He had business meetings and conducted presidential business from his Texas home. That is a big difference between the two. Regardless of who had the most money, we are not talking about that issue. Someone mentioned that Obama has flown to Hawaii several times at the taxpayer expense. That is his prerogative. Every time someone brings up a flaw in Obama, you die hard radical followers of the failure seem to think that you need to use Bush as a comparison, even though it does not relate or is past history. For some reason, you liberals seem to think that Obama needs defending like a retarded kid in grade school, from bullies. Are you really defending him, or your bad choice?

WHAT'S TRUE: Sasha and Malia Obama wore dresses worth about $20,000 each to a state dinner.

WHAT'S FALSE: Taxpayers paid for the dresses.

Controversy over the Cost of Sasha and Malia Obama's Dresses : snopes.com

If I could afford the dresses, I would buy them for my daughters. I thought that if the taxpayers paid for the dresses that would be unbelievable and I was right.

[let's see how you twist this around]

The question is...........WHO CARES about Obama's kids? They are not dangerous, he is. Help the idiot pack his stuff out. Shoot, I would even allow him to steal thousands of dollars worth of gov property, just to hasten his departure. Can anyone say "amen" to that?

I am old enough to remember him riding his horse and cutting wood among other things. Those were his working trips as you say. You must have been there to see the "business" he did. When you want to pick on someone, make sure your hero wasn't doing the same thing. lol

Your " boy " has a home in Chicago which is where he was living when he was a Community Activist [ his primary profession ] and when he was a US Senator . Thus he is not traveling to his " Home State ".

He and she like the " elite life " and at our expense it just can`t be sweeter .
Most recently in the past two Federal Spending Plans he has increased the Post Presidential Spending Budget by 18% to a total increase of 36% .
He is making certain that they will continue to live the " high life " at our expenses for many many decades.
But hey they are " Royalty " just ask them .

I think all his supporters should chip in and find a way to have the Obamas continue to use one of the presidential planes for their stable state of mind.
There probably is a withdrawal from luxuries provided by those who are intoxicated with the Obamas.
We certainly do not want the first black family to be forced into a state of wanting or needing. Mostly because we don't want to hear him or his wife or Sharpton or Jackson yapping about what we have taken away from them because they are black.....ya know!

He will be on the public speaking tour. I hear the rich, rich pay very well for a speech when they think they can get a few doors opened. I wouldn't worry about his welfare.
He buys nice dresses for his daughters at his expense, doesn't he? That's what the subject was, wasn't it? He didn't start life with wealthy parents or even 2 for that matter. I think you are jealous of a very well educated, rags to riches, self made man.

Hardly "self made." Affirmative action's best example. He has hardly worked his way up. He was basically carried, groomed, sponsored and bought.
