Landscaping contractors.

Has any one used Exterior Spaces for landscaping? Just got an estimate from them to redo our courtyard villa. I am always looking for the pros/cons.

Fourpar 01-03-2009 09:34 PM

We used Evergreen and are very happy with the job they did, and the price. Honest, easy to get along with folks and they stand behind what they do. Be glad to go into detail...via pm.

Mallory 01-03-2009 10:40 PM

We've used L.W.V Landscape. Did a very good job for us - gave us everything we wanted and more, especially Seminole stone chips for our planting beds rather than the mulch we had before. No weed problem now. Fair pricing, get the work done when they say they will, know how to plant (no staking of palms and they don't fall over), and help in the maintenance long term.

Call Lisa at 352-636-8850.

I'd give Sabrina a call. They advertize on TOTV and have done many in our neighborhood. We'll use her when we FINALLY get to Hadley.

Searay 01-07-2009 08:15 PM

LWV Landscaping has had numerous complaints for work not completed within The Villages. Speaking from personal experience their work is mediocre at best. Numerous plants and Palms had to be replaced at additional cost to me. Lisa refused to answer her phone nor return calls. Personal appearances at her business on CR466 failed to induce her to complete the work. An excess of 20 complaints have been logged in at the Sumpter County Sheriff's Office. Contact Seniors vs. Crime at (352) 753-2799 for additional information.

We used Sunscape Lawn and Landscaping and were very pleased. Looks Great. Great service. Highly recommend.

Mallory 01-08-2009 08:51 PM

Sorry to hear that, Searay. Again, they've given us everything we've asked. Most clients I've talked to are very pleased with their work.

Opus is my neighbour, and his new landscaping looks terrific! I will definitely use Sunscape if we do any more outside work.

gemorc 02-03-2009 07:15 PM

Sunscape has just completed my landscaping project. They installed an island with three palm trees. I also had them re-design the main entry way into the house. They completed the job in one day. I am extremely satisfied with the completed project. Sunscape may use my home for a reference anytime.

Paradise Landscaping at 356 Rhapsody Path, Hadley Villages

YES...finally after a month and a half, Gretch and her team of Paradise Landscapers FINALLY got around to finishing our yard and placing the rock they they had left undone. It now loooks very nice--the way it should have looked if the job had been completed on time. The job is finally finished.

As to whether you should you any landscaper...1. check them out for references, and 2. NEVER pay her the full amount of money due UNTIl the job is completed. In this way you will never have to wait for Paradise to come back and beg them to do the uncompleted job.

356 Rhapsody Path. The job finally looks nice and is complete a month and a half later.

tghoul 02-16-2009 11:17 AM

Sunscape has just completed my backyard landscaping project. They did an excellent job. Jeff gave a detailed estimate. The job was completed on time, they did a good job cleaning up and the plants were all healthy. I would recommend them.

Julie 02-16-2009 11:40 AM

I don't live in TV yet, but I strongly believe in supporting my community. Sunscape is an advertiser on this message board and has been given excellent recommendations by many Villager homowners who have used their service.

It would be at least prudent to have Sunscape give you a quote.

Good Luck.

I am having trouble posting information on this site about a contractor that everyone needs to be aware of. I've tried several time to post the info but am unable to. Where do I go to find out about the rules/regulations on posting stuff for this site. Is there one?

Thanks

Bryan 04-27-2009 05:19 AM

I've seen several comments about L.W.V. Landscaping and a few others. L.W.V. is one that has excessive complaints, especially over customer service and work completion issues. If you happen to check the BBB of Central Florida web site, you will find that LWV Landscaping is rated a very big fat "F". The BBB shows nine (9) registered complaints against LWV in the past 36 months and LWV failed to respond to a SINGLE ONE OF THEM - thus their "F" rating!:sigh:

Best advice, check and then double check with the BBB, Seniors Vs Crime (both offices in TV) and friends who have used them before hiring any landscaper. DO NOT pay in advance and DO NOT make the final payment until you are 100% satisfied with the work. Remember, their "one year guarantee" most offer on plants that die is only as good as the company itself.

Has anyone used Terrascape? We picked up a card last time we were in TV.

Shirleevee 04-27-2009 09:36 AM

I wish I could post pictures here to show the beautiful landscaping done on our home by LWV Landscaping. We are extremely satisfied.

Mallory 04-27-2009 03:32 PM

I'll say it again. We are happy with LWV. From what I've heard about some of these so-called complaints, I wouldn't bother responding either.

Sunscape

Jeff of Sunscape and his crew did a fabulous job for me. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Mallory 09-04-2009 03:17 PM

As an update on some of my earlier comments, unfortunately LWV is no longer a viable option.

mac9 09-04-2009 07:51 PM

Why is LWV no longer a viable option? Is she the one that took deposits from a lot of folks and never did any of the work? I had recently heard that criminal charges had been filed.

Mallory 09-05-2009 07:37 AM

They did great work for us and a number of our friends. Very creative. Don't know the current situation for sure other than they are not in business.

Do not use LWV Landscapes ,Lisa Whitehead is now in jail, for taking money in the thousands and not doing the work. she got me for $2,000. the district attorney is now handling the case. unhappy customer..............

NavyCO 09-05-2009 03:28 PM

LWV took our neighbor to the tune of $4000, and was arrested for that so I hear. There are lots of good landscapers and bad ones, and it is important to do two simple things:

1. Check them all out before ever ever writing a contract and providing a deposit (never more than 25%), and

2. Never Ever pay for the job until 100% of all work has been totally done to your satisfaction. Then and only then pay or write a check.

The problems I hear about all the time at TOTV is about Villagers simply NOT USING COMMON SENSE. Crooks and cons will see stupidity every day and take advantage of that.

Some of the landscapers bid jobs way too low to undercut their competition. Becareful of that. You get what you pay for.

Paradise Landscapers does do very good good work, and does complete their jobs. With us, they took a while, but the work did get done and was to our full satisfaction after our job was finally completed. Don't be afraid to contract with PARADISE, but do use common sense when contracting for landscaping work. Apply the two RULES listed above and you will never go wrong.

We used Citrus & Palms located on 441 close to Marion Market. Fantastic job. Very professional, great printed layout before job. We have recommended them to many of our friends, and they feel the same.

Landscaper Skates

Talked to a neighbor this morning about his 3 new palms that weren't staked. 1 palm is leaning already & the owner said that none of them had any bubblers (water) going to them. The owner allegedly questioned the landscaper and the owner said that the landscaper told him he didn't stake trees and didn't know where the irrigation line was located.

Buyer beware. :ohdear:

Does anyone have knowledge of "earthscapes" unlimited, inc's work?

Looking for feedback on their honesty, capability and reliability for landscape work.

Kwik Kerb landscaping

Hi everyone, we have friends who are using Kwik Kerb, they were very pleased with the proposal they got and agreed to let them start work. They are not here at the time and we are checking on what they are doing. It seems they are doing their "own thing" and not using the plants agreed upon. No money has changed hands. Our friends have called Kwik Kerb and their calls are not returned. I see no indication that they are landscapers. Tomorrow I will go to their house and tell them to stop what they are doing until they get in touch with our friends. Any thoughts?? Thanks

We worked with Jeromy Finegan and his team at Advanced Curbing who were very responsive to our calls and working out a cost effective design. They did a great job in only 4 days.

Would highly recommend his tel # is 352-427-5727

Do not use exterior spaces. The price might seem good, but they don't follow thru and do poor work. They don't honor their warranty or answer calls and concerns
Total ripoff
