Lawn Companies - Who Do You Trust???
 

I live in Lake Deaton and I'm trying to decide on a lawn maintenance company. We're in our house for 8 months and had Dean's initially. But our lawn is not pretty and I need to make a change. I've interviewed 4 other companies. Each has a good sales pitch but I don't know who to believe. Some are more money but claim better service and more/better treatment products. Others are cheaper but I don't know if they're as good.

If you had similar issues and found a company that did a great job for you at a reasonable price, I'd love to hear your experience.

I also have had Deans (we inherited them from previous owners) since we got here in Sept and our lawn looks crappy. Their bed weed spraying also leaves much room for improvement. I've had to call them several times for follow-up. Have interviewed Massey and am tempted to call Fertigator.....would like to stick with one company to cover all needs. Suggestions?

Fertigator.................Talk to Dave. I've been happy since 2013. Four of my neighbors have switched to Fertigator as well.

Not Massey......

We have used Massey the last year and find they do a good job. We aren't real "picky" and I know some are. After 10 years in The Villages, we have found you have to "monitor" things yourself because the companies don't come around that much and your yard can "go south" pretty quick. If you leave for the summer, find A "home watch" which will monitor for you while your gone.

I am very happy with Massey.

I do my own fertilizing, weed control and insect control. So I use Miss Best and her family for mowing and trimming of bushes. Her prices are very reasonable and now has picked up several lawns here in the village of Charlotte. Get on Facebook and type in Miss Best Lawn Service and you can see some of her work. I can assure you she will take an interest in your lawn and do a tremendous job for a fair pay check. I have had 3 of the big guys and no one comes close to this lady and her family's workers... You can trust Brenda Best...

They are the best we have down here

I've had Fertigator for about a year. I do find that I have to get after them on occasion (e.g. to come and do the overdue shrub trimming), but in general they're good enough that I've not been motivated to go through the pain of cancelling and hiring someone else.

We've been living in The Villages since 2007 (seasonally).
We have been using Falcon Lawn & Pest for the past year.
We definitely want a full-service company, and one we can pay monthly.
We've found Falcon to be professional and very responsive.
We feel that Josh who takes care of our home really cares about our needs.
Our Home Care Company reports good results when we're not in The Bubble.
Falcon handles lawn mowing, fertilizing, weeding, pest control inside and out, termites, trimming shrubs -

We have used Mayo's landscaping service for 2yrs. Having lived in Fl for the last 12 yrs. I can honestly say they are the most honest and trusty co. to date. Austin Mayo (352) 461-9208.

I have Fertigator and they have not mowed my lawn for 18 days. Call Friday and got answering machine. Call today, April 18, and got message that it was a non working number. Do not know they are in business. Service has not been good.

That's interesting...............I just called and they answered the phone.

They are in business and they have given me GREAT service for over three years.

Another vote for Fertigator, 2 years in and our lawn has never greener.

We use Heron. Doing a great job.. Any issues, call them and they show up.

Never Massey Again

I do my own now but used Zoysia Green in the past. My neighbors use them currently. They do a good job, you sign no contract and pay as you go. They also come in between regular visits to take care of issues when you call them. I recommend them. My neighbor is very picky about her lawn and plants.

Fertigator....and unless they slack off with quality will continue to do so....

I have called Brenda in the past when my regular lawn guy let the bushes, etc. get out of hand. She was great at turning my "jungle" back into a landscape. Now, my regular guy is moving on. Brenda was my first choice for taking over everything, but my property is a little too big for Brenda's push mowers. To take care of cutting the grass, I contacted a ride-on-mower outfit that my neighbors use and scheduled them for later in the week. Mid-morning, I emailed Brenda, telling her that I was in need of some trimming. Could she check her calendar and fit me in somewhere? To my surprise, she and her daughter showed up at noon and took care of it. She said something about being in the neighborhood or something. I think that they forwent their lunch. Unbelievable. Nice people. Hard working. Again, I am a happy camper.

Or Service Smart. We fired Massey after the first year here because we didn't think anyone could be worse and hired Stellar. They seemed to be OK at first, but since they merged with Service Smart it has been a nightmare. I am anxious to see if there is a consensus on the better providers, because I am looking hard.

I have been here six years and have had four different companies. I finally found someone who gives a damn about my lawn. I DO IT MYSELF.
