Scary Godiva

Ok, so I'm in the cart on the way to Spanish Springs. Heading out of our villas we see a police car parked in front of a home and boxes and all kinds of items are flying out of the garage landing in the driveway and scattered across the road. The officer comes out of the garage a few minutes later with a naked woman wearing only a pair of black boots and puts her into his patrol car. Darn baby boomers!

Reported at the other site. Woman with obvious mental problems. Folks over there were being ugly about her. She seems to have suffered a mental collapse and deserves compassion.

I absolutely agree.

No one really knows what she may be going through or other issues and to mock something like that, is just beyond tacky.

Nine times out of ten it's alcohol.

Thank you for the links graciegirl. I think you may be onto something. Scary stuff!

You may have nailed it, GG!

In the newspaper photo she looks to have some of her hair bleached; the remainder is dark colored, usually indicative of a druggie lifestyle choice.

I knew a long sober alcoholic, now deceased, who ran a half way house. Amazingly, he could almost always determine what a substance abuser was using from their appearance.

My question...why was the officer wearing only a pair of black boots?

Drugs, alcohol, or mental issues, this person needs help and assistance, not jail. Our society can not just toss people into the human wastebasket.

Now will this make the European press like that Sex on the Square stuff?

It sounds like the woman had a psychotic break which could be from any number of reasons. Signs and Symptoms of Psychotic Episodes

I am so confused with all the folks who have photo in their name.

Some have more patience than others. You need a lot of patience on this forum.

How did that work for you? If you want to link to that site, you need to be clever. Like this.

Unfortunately we do not provide the care that so many need. With the deinstitutionalization of mental health facilities during the 1970s came the supposed promise of outpatient care on a much larger scale. That promise was never kept, and now so many with mental health issues are homeless and on the streets. As bad is the situation with our vets. The VA has failed to provide care for many with PTSD, so they end up homeless as well. And few facilities - outpatient and inpatient- are capable of caring for those with mental health problems AND drug abuse issues.

And then we have the psychiatrist/psychologists who are are basically just pill pushers thinking drugs are the answer to everything. They works with some things but not so well with others. No one really knows what caused this bizarre behavior. Some folks enjoy drinking Bud Light and sharing their philosophy. Some people have common sense and wisdom.
